The Clackamas County Chair has sent a letter to the Tri Met board that says essentially, hey guys we’re letting the voters vote on this Milwaukie Light Rail extension and, oh by the way, we might not have funding for it, and, oh by the way, it should go no further than Tacoma Street.  Have a nice day and we’ll find out what the voters think in May. Buh bye.

This has buoyed the spirits of the anti light rail bunch who have a strategy meeting set for Saturday:
IT’S FINALLY HERE…

THANKS TO THE PASSAGE OF MEASURE 3-401, COUNTY
CITIZENS WILL BE VOTING ON 3 LIGHT RAIL ISSUES IN MAY.

OUR GRASSROOTS COALITION WILL HAVE A KICK-OFF
CAMPAIGN MEETING AT NOON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 9TH.
WE HAVE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO CONTINUE TO BUILD
ON THE SUCCESS OF OUR RECENT VICTORIES.

TEBO’S IS AT THE CORNER OF GLEN ECHO AND MCLOUGHLIN,
ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE GLADSTONE BURGERVILLE.

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU ALSO ATTEND THE 10:00AM
THURSDAY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING IN OREGON CITY.
THE FLAWED COLUMBIA RIVER CROSSING PLAN WILL BE ON THE
AGENDA. THE OVERPRICED PROJECT IS VERY SIMILAR TO PMLR.
