THE NUMBERS FROM THE CENSUS BUREAU SAY:
The usual suspects say that as many as 45 Americans (some say 45m) are uninsured in America. The Census Bureau stats say: Not So Fast Babalooie.

38% (17 mil) of uninsured live in homes making $50K or more
20% (9 mil) live in homes making $75K or more
40% (18 mil) 18-34 year olds who spend 4x’s as much as they would for insurance on cigarettes, alcohol, entertainment
31% (14 mil) are eligible for Medicaid or SCHIP but don’t sign up
18% (8 mil) are truly uninsured because they refuse to participate in society. They’re the homeless, alcoholics, societal drop outs.
