The President from ACORN Switches Nation’s 9/11/01 Observance to Include "Day of Service" by Rees Lloyd

September 11 has been annually observed since 2001 as Patriot Day — that is, until Sept. 11, 2009: It has now been re-designated “Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance” by proclamation of President Barack Hussein Obama. Why would the Obama regime find it necessary to rename Patriot Day into a community organizing slogan?
I suggest that the action of Obama and his regime action is an insult to the nation, and to the memory of all those who died, and the families of those who died, as a result of the 9-11-2001 attack on America by fanatical Muslim terrorists acting pursuant to the Declaration of War against America by the Islamofascist terrorist Osama Bin Laden.
September 11 is not a day to gayly attend an ACORN meeting. It is a day of solemn remembrance of the horror of 9-11-2001 and the need to stand united against the Islamist terrorism which caused the death of almost 3,000 innocent people, including over 400 fire, police, and other emergency personnel who died in valiant attempts to rescue victims of that evil attack by Muslim fanatics.
Instead, Obama, a Saul Alinsky-indoctrinated former “community organizer” cum President, diminshes the “Patriot” essence of Patriot’s Day by appending to the name of the day his community organizer agenda, making it a feel-good “National Day of Service.” The media reports of the anniversary of 9-11, following the Obama regi me’s liberal lead, almost universally reported it as “…the first National Service Day.”
Thus, Obama, and his regime, have shamefully degraded Patriot Day, by an act further evidencing Obama’s apparent unrestrained narcissistic self-worship. He apparently is so self-absorbed that he is unable to recognize that Patriot Day is not about him and his community-organizer’s agenda—it is about those innocents who died, and those heroes who died trying to save those innocents. It is about remembering and honoring the ordinary Americans on Flight 93, who, knowing that they would die, rose up and fought the Islamist terrorists who had hijacked the plane in order to fly it into the Capitol. That patriotic spirit is what is needed if we are to defend American freedom from Islamist jihadist terrorism.
Instead, Obama, the “community organizer,” re-designates Patriot Day as a National Day of Service, proclaiming “ I call upon the people of the United States to participate in community service” as his first priority of 9-11 observances.
&nb sp; Remarkably, Obama has issued a proclamation which speaks of thousands who were killed, but never identifies who or what killed them. How is it that Barack Hussein Obama never identifies the perpetrators of the terrorist attack on America as “terrorists,” or identifies them as Muslim fanatics, or the fact that so many of the 19 terrorists were Saudi Arabian followers Al-Queda? If Obama’s Proclamation was the only source of information, one might conclude those thousands might have died in an attack by UFO’s, Martians, alien spirits, as no perpetrator is idenitifed.
Obama was elected to act as the President of the United States and Commander-in-Chief to defend the nation and its republican form of government, not as cult leader or to act as the “Community Organizer-In-Chief” to re-make the nation modeled on ACORN, whose community organizers he trained, whose corrupt actions he defended as its lawyer, and to which he pledged even before taking office that it would be closely involved in shaping the policies of his regime.
Patriot Day was established as a result of the action of the U.S. House of Representatives, by a vote of “407 to 0,”20on October 25, 2001, adopting Joint Resolution 71, which requested the President of the United States to designate September 11 each year as “Patriot Day” in remembrance of all those who died as a result of 9-11 attack on America. Then-President George Bush, following the unanimous will of Congress, on December 18, 2001 signed Joint Resolution 71 into law, and under its authority established September 11 as Patriot Day.
Since then, annually, the nation has paused to observe Patriot Day, to remember 9-11, the victims of Islamist terrorism, the heroes who gave their lives in rescue attempts, and the perpetrators of 9-11 who must be resisted, not bowed before, if American freedom is be preserved. There are such observances throughout the nation on Patriot Day. In particular, wartime veterans of The American Legion, the VFW, other veterans organizations, gather at their Posts, at veterans memorials, at veterans cemeteries, to remember the victims, and to honor those who gave their lives trying to save those victims.
In short, Patriot Day has become an American tradition to remember the reality of terrorism, to remember its victims, to remember the reasons why we must be prepared to stand and fight terrorism and the terrorists, just as we reme mber Veterans Day, Pearl Harbor Day, Four Chaplains Day, Memorial Day — days to honor those who have lost their lives in war, not days to advance any politician’s career or political agenda, in this instance Obama’s community-organizer agenda. Will Obama now rewrite history to observe Pearl Harbor Day as a “National Service Day” without including the fact that it was Japan which attacked Pearl Harbor, as he on Patriot Day issues a proclamation which doesn’t dare mention that the attackers were fanatical Muslim terrorists, almost all from Saudi Arabia?
Patriot Day is now converted into the “National Day of Service,” according to Obama’s Proclamation, under authority of the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, adopted April 21, 2009, which reauthorized and re-formed many federal national service laws. It “recognizes September 11 as a National Day of Service,” according to Obama in his Proclamation. Why would this massive statute include a re-designation of Patriot Day? That is not explained. How many Americans knew that Patriot Day’s redesignation was included? It is naught but cover for Obama to pursue his Saul Alinsky-community organizer’s agenda. (See, Alinsky’s “Rules For Radicals” to see that agenda.)
I with other veterans observed Patriot Day as Patriot Day, notwithstanding Obama’s purporting to “change” a day of patriotic purpose into a community organizer’s opportunity to “change” patriots into statist subjects or serfs kowtowing to government.
We veterans remembered and honored the 9-11 victims on Patriot Day with respect and solemnity, played “Taps,” saluted the American Flag without apology, called “terrorism” by its name and the terrorist perpetrators by their name, and reaffirmed the oath we all took on entering service, “…to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic.”
While I understand that Obama never deigned to wear the uniform of the country, as President, he took a similar oath as those who did serve, not an oath to change the nation in the image of Alinsky or ACORN, as “community organizer.”
The nation should repudiate Obama’s tortured distortion of Patriot Day into a call for community organizing. Congress should act to reverse it. And neither Obama nor any other self-obsessed, narcissistic politician should ever again attempt to pervert Patriot Day — or Pearl Harbor Day, Four Chaplains Day, Veterans Day, or Memorial Day — from a day remembering and honoring those who lost their lives by acts of war, as 9-11 was, into an opportunity to advance that politician’s personal political agenda, or personality-cult.
