I think the NAACP has done to itself what the feminist movement did to itself in the ’90s when, for naked, partisan reasons, it wouldn’t repudiate that rake, rapist, and raconteur Bill Clinton for his misogyny. Instead they turned their sites on the “little bit nutty, little bit slutty,” Paula Jones and lost their credibility. The NAACP is going after the Tea Party with racism and bigotry and they will short circuit their own honorable mission by tainting it with partisanship which should have been beneath their dignity. That is wasn’t is to their everlasting shame.
