One thing’s for sure, Johnny Mackay knows in his heart that they’re President Trump haters. Mackay left his truck parked overnight outside the Garage Bar and Grille in Vancouver Sunday night. He took an Uber home. When he returned to fetch his truck the next day this is what he saw:
His truck had two bumper stickers on the back and he thinks they are what triggered the attack:
The small stickers read: “Trump 2020 make liberals cry again” and “Trump: Keep America Great.”
USA Today reports that when Mackay saw his truck he was stunned:
The truck was “completely melted” and a light bar on top was “liquefied,” the Vancouver man said.
“It took me by surprise,” Mackay added. “It blew me away.”
Someone at the bar took a video of the fire:
It’s not known who did it, but it looks to be a so-called hate crime.
Mackay felt impelled to tell USA Today that he hadn’t even voted for Trump, but it shouldn’t matter because, “I feel violated”:
“Maybe he wasn’t the guy you voted for or maybe he wasn’t who you wanted in office, but now he is,” Mackay said. “People just need to relax.”
The group was also responsible for the jailing of another citizen journalist, Mike Strickland, who was prosecuted in Portland for pulling his legal pistol to ward off a mob of thugs trying to throw him out of a protest. No shots were fired and no one else, except Strickland, who had been beaten, was hurt.
Before they chased old men in cars and canceled parades; before Ann Coulter, Ben Shapiro, Milo Yianoppolous and Charles Murray were silenced by mob violence; before Professional Paid Protesters, Incorporated™ screamed at Senators, overturned cars or set a ‘deplorable’s’ limo on fire; there was Michael Strickland.
July 7, 2016 was just another day for the videographer who filmed Portland, Oregon’s protest scene for his YouTube channel “Laughing at Liberals.”
Unbeknownst to Strickland, his very success on YouTube and in placing his videos on national news outlets, would be kryptonite to the balaclava clad wing nuts of Antifa. As one Portland anarchist admitted to me, Antifa didn’t like how Strickland held up a mirror to the mob and made them look stupid.
A previous attempt to ruin his video by calling him epithets and getting in his face at a candlelight vigil for the Orlando shooting victims didn’t work. By July, Antifa had contrived a way to shut him up for good.
As admitted in court, Antifa and Black Lives Matter/Don’t Shoot Portland agitators conspired in advance to throw the journalist out of ‘their’ protest, which was being held on public property.
The mob surrounded Strickland, roughing him up, hitting him with their flag staffs (a typical weapon) and punching him as he recorded their protest.
Here’s a typical cache of weapons from Antifa ‘protests’:
A few minutes later, angry that Strickland hadn’t acceded to their violent tactics, the mob came at him again, attempting to surround him like a pack of jackals.
Strickland drew his licensed concealed handgun that Antifa knew he had (I know, I asked), a Glock semi automatic pistol. Strickland, showing amazing trigger discipline – never allowing his finger to come close to the trigger – held off his attackers as he backed away from the mob. To be clear, Strickland was the only person hurt that day. No shots were ever fired.
People stunned to hear about the old man chased down the streets of Portland by the mob were equally shocked to learn that the Portland Police Bureau stood by and did nothing. Worse, the Bureau has invited the mob to file complaints against the old man in the car. Not a typo.
Indeed, in Portland, self defense has been turned on its ear. For being targeted, beaten and forced to draw his weapon to save himself, Strickland was prosecuted. Members of the mob, which had beaten him once already and were running in to finish him off, were magically transformed into victims.
The book was thrown at Strickland. A perjurious ‘police report’ issued by one of the protest organizers and the guy who conspired to get Strickland tossed from the July protest was used by Leftist prosecutors to enhance the videographer’s bail to $250,000 – nearly that of a murderer.
Strickland’s case was heard by a Portland judge who found him guilty of all charges, which included ten felonies (for his ten ‘victims’).
People are just getting wind of Portland ‘justice’ after the car chasing caper:
Clear this up for me…
If ANTIFA stops you in your car, traps you, threatens you, beats on your car, and you feel you are in danger (because you ARE in danger)…
Do you not have the right to protect yourself? Are you supposed to sit in your car until they're finished?
In Portland, if you merely show you are armed, you will be arrested, charged with a felony, and banned from public events for "disturbing" ANTIFA with your presence. Ask Mike Strickland. https://t.co/XUO3EaQFBP
There is a reason the media celebrates ANTIFA, stays mute about the black bloc, and political patrons in Portland imprisoned ANTIFA critics rather than lefty violence. They were always heading in this direction once they lost political power: cultural blackmail & street violence. https://t.co/sAg7wfVJOA
Excuses the @ORDOJ used to justify the jailing of independent reporter, Mike Strickland: that the black bloc violent anarchist group is part of the "protest community" of Portland & that a reporter who is "polarizing" to ANTIFA-types should be banned from filming public events.
The post noted that the federal designation is a game-changer:
“For real victims, that means that there is another avenue for justice outside the Leftist Multnomah County Courthouse. And that means the possibilities of civil rights violations charges against Antifa and the system of justice that rewards their violence with light sentences and low bail.
To sum up: Antifa is a violent, anarchistic group, with national and international ties, that uses violence and destruction as a weapon of terror. The Pacific Northwest is the biggest hotbed of this activity. If Portland, Oregon is ground zero, Mike Strickland was patient zero.”
The group keeps a hit list similar to the one used by Southern Poverty Law Center.
A gunman who attacked the Family Research Council name the SPLC’s list as the reason. Like the rest of the country, clearly, the Portland Antifa gang is well aware of this. He received 25 years to life in prison.
Someone also sent this email through the VictoriaTaft.com website appearing to claim ‘credit’ for Stratton’s death. See it here.
Now comes another message to the website, this one as a comment which came in at 2:26 this morning.
The threatening message reads:
We see your racist nazi [sic] pal Sonny Yelliot [sic] is costing your blog [sic]. No surprise here you racist sympathizer [sic].
We are always watching you and we have associates all over.
This is a year of surprises including a veteran semi driver crashing in a fireball in perfect weather [sic].
You are bringing a lot of attention your way by posting photos of our comrades at city hall! Think about what your [sic] doing and think about the possible consequences.
The message ostensibly was sent by “Rose City Antifa.”
Let’s take a closer look.
The author of the comment, rife with bad grammar, is offended that “Sonny Yelliot” wrote a comment on the blog. Here’s what Yellott (correct spelling) wrote in a comment to this post:
“Love your involvement here Victoria Taft. We have met but I doubt yo [sic] will remember me out of the hordes you must encounter. Please include this address in your mailing list”
To which VictoriaTaft.com responded:
“I remember you, Sonny. Keep your head up! …and on a swivel.”
Sonny often commented via email on my radio shows in Portland. Who knew that we were both “Nazis”?
The next thing to note is:
“We are always watching you and we have associates all over.”
That’s creepy and threatening. The allusion to Stratton’s death is notable and will be shown to person investigating his death.
Finally comes the more overt threat:
“Think about what your [sic] doing and think about the possible consequences.”
Is it a threat or disinformation?
Good question. But I’ve got one more: 1911, Glock, or hammerless S&W .38?
In a little noted story one year ago, Politico reported that Department of Homeland Security “confidential intelligence” documents showed that “antifascists,” known as “Antifa,” are now considered a domestic terror group.
Those who have observed the violence by Portland Professional Protester, Incorporated, Antifa edition, are not surprised by the recent domestic terrorism designation. In fact, most would probably say ‘what took you so long?’
The report, disseminated within DHS in April 2016, is an assessment of violent groups, and reveals that the Pacific Northwest region is a national ‘leader’ in Leftist violent extremism:
” … US extremist attacks noted in this study occurred in multiple states, the majority of incidents occurred in the Pacific Northwest.”
Portlanders have watched in disgust as the City ‘leaders’ have thrown their lot in with the protesters, leaving law-abiding citizens adrift without representation. The rule-of-law has become a two track system – one for Antifa and Portland Professional Protesters and the regular, tougher one for everyone else.
You’d think that after the nine-year-long blockbuster investigation of Oregon based eco and animal terrorists known as “The Family” that local leaders would catch a clue. Wrong.
Either in thrall of ACLU and Lawyers Guild attorneys, or out of fear for their own safety – or both – city officials have looked the other way all while making public pronouncements about the virtue of Antifa’s crusade. Maybe it’s the contact high outside City Hall that convinced them capitulation would keep the mob from their door.
Antifa has responded to Official Portland’s endorsement by bashing heads, detonating IEDs, setting fires, hitting people with ‘flag’ staffs, hurling fire works, menacing, attacking cops, blocking freeways and roads, conspiring against videographers (see Mike Strickland and Leo Stratton stories nearby), and deploying chemical sprays.
Official Protester Portland has given the mob its seal-of-approval because, after all, these virtuous, Black bloc, balaclava clad crusaders ridding the world of all things “fascist” are on the side of angels don’t ‘cha know.
Oregonians are wary of coming downtown, especially at night, because they’re afraid to discover they’ve been transmogrified into a Nazi and be ‘dealt’ with by Antifa.
Mayor Ted Wheeler has cheered the violent protesters on, offered them public support and ordered police to stand down during violent clashes except once, and that was only recently.
However, what is new is the seriousness with which at least federal law enforcement will potentially treat the violent political gang.
Note this from Politico:
“Previously unreported documents disclose that by April 2016, authorities believed that “anarchist extremists” were the primary instigators of violence at public rallies against a range of targets. They were blamed by authorities for attacks on the police, government and political institutions, along with symbols of “the capitalist system,” racism, social injustice and fascism, according to a confidential 2016 joint intelligence assessment by DHS and the FBI.”
The report, called the Baseline Comparison of US and Foreign Anarchist Extremist Movements, reported that during 2013 and 2014 things began to heat up in both Michigan and the PNW with violent groups.
A group then known as the Plockers, an outgrowth of 2011’s Occupy Portland, began to squat in foreclosed houses and refuse to leave. According to the report, there were multiple arsons committed by these activists in their anti-gentrification schemes.
As we’ve seen over the years and chronicled here and on my radio shows, the same people who were active in the “BushHitler” days, became Obamabots and Bernie Bros. Others on the fringes learned from the Seattle WTO conflagration and thus became a subset of these anarchists, wearing their Black bloc clothing and balaclavas.
Antifa derived from this group. Portland anarchists have told me they don’t share Antifa’s world view, but for most, it’s a distinction without a difference.
The report worries that “anarchist extremist” “antifascists” – come on guys, you can just call them Antifa – will become more violent in the U.S. and the world.
Read the report for yourself and note that the deep dive into Antifa ended in spring of 2016 as Antifa was getting absolutely triggered over the presidential election just months away.
Enter Mike Strickland.
In July of 2016, Portland Professional Protester members held a “Don’t Shoot PDX” Black Lives Matter march and rally and noticed videographer Mike Strickland in their midst. Strickland, the owner of the YouTube channel, “Laughing at Liberals,” often covered Portland’s Leftist rallies and marches. His material regularly made national news.
Organizer of the event, John Slaughter, admitted in court that he and others conspired to rough up Strickland and throw him out of their event, which was being held on a public street. They hit Strickland with their flag staffs, punched him and then, when they saw he had retreated to another spot at the rally, organized another rush at him whereupon he pulled his legal pistol and, while not even putting his finger near the trigger, held off the gang. No shots were fired.
Repeating. In Portland, Oregon the guy who was doing his job in what we thought was a free country, reporting on protesters on a public street whom he has covered many times before, was forced to pull his pistol to defend himself against a marauding band of thugs, one of whom, Benjamin Kerensa, was 400 pounds. And Strickland was jailed.
The chief reason why Strickland was treated like a criminal by the Multnomah County DA’s office? Slaughter claimed, without providing proof, that Strickland sent him racist text messages. Strickland text messages were never presented to buttress that claim because they didn’t exist. But the DA believed Slaughter and poured on the charges and bail for Strickland.
Within months of the Strickland assault, similar tactics were used to silence conservative speakers on college campuses.
The flaccid response by police and university officials, largely due to their endorsement of their Antifa heroes, gave rise to the right wing groups holding marches and rallies to draw out Antifa and respond to their violence with force of their own.
Here’s where we get to a crucial point about Portland and Antifa. Politico reported that federal officials believe Antifa is organized and connected with a national and international organization:
” … [A]uthorities following them believe they are organized via decentralized networks of cells that coordinate with each other. Often, they spend weeks planning for violence at upcoming events…
Dozens of armed anti-fascist groups have emerged, including Redneck Revolt and the Red Guards, according to the reports and interviews. One report from New Jersey authorities said self-described antifa groups have been established in cities including New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and San Francisco.
Some of the DHS and FBI intelligence reports began flagging the antifa protesters before the election.
That means that with federal law enforcement involved could be designated a continuing criminal enterprise and those in it charged with giving material support to a terrorist organization.
For real victims, that means that there is another avenue for justice outside the Leftist Multnomah County Courthouse.
If Portland, Oregon is ground zero, Mike Strickland was patient zero.
Portland conservatives were stunned to hear the news one week ago that videographer Leo Stratton had died in a fiery, late night crash. Now there’s concern that his death wasn’t an accident and Oregon State Police are investigating.
According to The Oregonian, the professional truck driver died Wednesday night, September 12, 2018 when his big rig “drifted off the highway”:
“The Oregon State Police said an early investigation shows the semi driver, Leo Stratton, was going east on Interstate 84, drifted off the highway and hit a rock embankment.
Stratton was a videographer with his own YouTube channel, which boasted 11,000 subscribers. His work often lampooned the violent and destructive antics of the Portland professional protester Left – with special emphasis on the group that calls itself “anti fascists,” or Antifa.
Stratton’s “screamer” video was among his most widely viewed. More than 450,000 have watched his video of a disturbed, rainbow-haired person who showed up to ruin a pro-Trump rally:
Stratton’s work became more important after a Portland judge and prosecutors banned the area’s premier chronicler of the Left, “Laughing at Liberals'” Mike Strickland, from reporting on politics.
Strickland’s 1st and 2nd Amendment rights were stripped from him after a mob of Antifa attacked him at an protest and Strickland pulled his legally concealed handgun to protect himself. No shots were fired. His case is on appeal. See my exhaustive list of stories about Strickland here, here and here for starters.
The Left Celebrates
Members of Antifa gloried in attacking and sidelining Strickland. And, disgustingly, now the same is happening with the death of Stratton.
While members of the GOP, Trump supporting folks on the right and citizen journalists mourned, within hours of his death Antifa-affiliated Leftists began glorying in it:
This self described bike courier’s Twitter profile included a feature photo of Stratton and the fiery crash which ended the 50-year-old videographer’s life:
The Twitter user “Give No Fucks” was positively giddy that Stratton was dead:
Jake Laskey in jail Leo Stratton is dead- what a great day! God loves leftist #happy
VictoriaTaft.com received an email from a phony email address claiming ‘credit’ for killing Stratton:
“We finally got Leo Stratton! He is down!”
Antifa Network Goes Into Action
Within hours of his death, the Leftist website called IDA Vox ran an obituary enthusing, “Leo Stratton, ROT IN HELL.” The post labeled the watcher of the Left the “Leni Riefenstahl of the Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer” groups:
Gateway Pundit has published an obit for Portland-based Patriot Prayer regular and Red Elephants contributor Leo Stratton, who died in a truck crash on i84. They call him “a proud Trump supporter in the middle of a communist stronghold. https://t.co/dycP8GvsjU
Though the Left and Antifa labeled both Stratton and Strickland as “fascists,” “racists,” and “homophobes,” the labels were transparently contrived to give the rebels-without-a-cause, Antifa, a reason to engage in anti-social and violent behavior in general and specifically work against the men who whose work made the Leftists look bad. Labeling them “fascists” made it easier to gather a mob to oust them from their protests and rallies. The irony of the group’s own fascist moves was apparently lost on them.
Stratton On Antifa Hit List
Stratton had been an object of interest for the Left:
Rose City Antifa listed Stratton on its Southern Poverty Law Center-like hit list:
The supposed “anti fascists” monitored or spied on, if you will, the individual goings on of people on the right:
And it’s true. No one expects this. While it seems far fetched that in “Little Beirut” – Portland, Oregon – we could have just witnessed a political hit, the continuing violent criminal enterprise that is Antifa gaining such a stronghold over the city was something that we never expected, either.
Is this group, known for its violence, fire bombings, fascist tactics and attacks capable of … murder?
When the loons have convinced themselves that Leo Stratton is just like Hitler’s propagandist, it’s not hard to imagine that these self styled saviors may have graduated to more than “some silly shit.”
Border security should be on the lips of every presidential candidate.
For years, documents, prayer rugs and passports have been discovered along the U.S./Mexico border. These reports have come from solid sources, but now Judicial Watch has uncovered the smoking gun documents proving that Al Qaeda cells operated freely along the border:
“JW obtained them as part of an investigative series into [Adnan G. El ] Shukrijumah, an Al Qaeda operative also known as Javier Robles. In December, 2014 Shukrijumah was killed by the Pakistan Army in an intelligence-borne operation in South Waziristan. But before he died Shukrijumah helped plan several U.S. attacks, including plots to bomb Oprah Winfrey’s studio and detonate nuclear devices in multiple American cities.
There was a price on his head. This group offered $5 million for his capture:
Worse, the Al Qaeda operators seemed to be working with Mexican drug cartels and operated with impunity along the border region:
“For years Shukrijumah appeared on the FBI’s most wanted list and, despite being sought by the agency, he crossed back and forth into the U.S. from Mexico to meet fellow militant Islamists in Texas. JW has reported that, as one of the world’s most wanted terrorists, Shukrijumah piloted an aircraft into the Cielo Dorado airfield in Anthony, New Mexico.”
“The FBI launched a global manhunt for Shukrijumah in 2003, and the U.S. Department of State offered a $5 million reward for information leading to his arrest. U.S. officials at the time described him as an “imminent threat to U.S. citizens and interests,” adding that he was possibly as significant an organizer of terrorist acts as Mohamed Atta, the suspected ringleader of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.”
It turns out that the senior Al Qaeda bad guy plotting to attack several U.S. targets was at one point a government snitch living in Florida:
“He was one of the suspected actors in a number of planned terror attacks in the U.S., including a plot to simultaneously detonate nuclear devices in several U.S. cities. Convicted terrorist Jose Padilla claimed to have trained with Shukrijumah to blow up U.S. apartment buildings using natural gas explosions.”
He was also indicted in 2010 for a plot to blow up the New York subways:
“The plot against New York City’s subway system was directed by senior Al Qaeda leadership in Pakistan, the FBI says, and was directly related to a scheme by Al Qaeda plotters in Pakistan to use Western operatives to attack a target in the United States.”
This Wall of Remembrance shows you how radical Islam has waged its modern war on the U.S. for decades.
This Wall of Remembrance is touring across the country to remember 9/11. On one side are the names of every single person who’s died fighting radical Islamists since the Beirut bombing that killed 241 of our finest U.S. Marines.
1983 Beirut Marine barracks bombing
1991 Operation Desert Storm to push Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait.
1993 Blackhawk Down, Somalia
1996 bombing of 19 servicemen in Dahrain, Saudi Arabia
1998 U.S. Embassy bombings in Africa
2000 U.S.S. Cole bombing
2001 Attacks on World Trade Center, U.S. Pentagon and Flight 93’s target was either U.S. Capitol or the White House.
I haven’t included all of the subsequent — hundreds — of attacks on the country since but you can in the comments section.
The Wall of Remembrance includes the anthrax attacks; Major Hassan’s attack on Fort Hood; the attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya; the invasion of Iraq to get Saddam Hussein, a state sponsor of terrorism and many others. It’s worth a look.
This video was taken at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda, California.
I believe Obama announced it at Oh-Dark-30 to get his reaction out there before Iran’s articulation of deal and open mockery of US idiocy.
Assured Iran WILL get nuke.
Unfreezes $100 billion which represents 40% of their GDP which can and will be used to bankroll Hezbollah, Assad, Hamas. It’s like cutting Hitler a check and then telling him to do good things with it –and being so gullible you believe him.
Arms embargo is taken off. Why? The President says this agreement won’t allow them to get nuke and then gives entree to others. Do you think they might use the assets to buy weapons?
Leaves our political prisoners in their prisons.
Gives money to Monsters who killed our soldiers in Iraq and let the bomb making maestro out of the deal.
Just further destabilized the Middle East.
No anytime anywhere inspections. Rubes.

The Westboro Baptist Church Family Cult Comes to Portland and Their ‘God Hates Fags’ Act Wears Thin With Portlanders
The crazies of the Westboro family cult came to Portland to flash their anti homosexual signs in front of the Moda Center before the Portland-Miami basketball game Saturday night. Their usual loud, obnoxious protest ensued one year after the Blazers announced support of same sex marriage. Perhaps Westboro’s year-long delay of the protest is due to inbreeding. Be that as it may, the WBC crowd was counter protested, heckled and eventually turned tail and left. See the video below.
Now, there’s intolerance-light and there’s real intolerance. Though many have tried to shut them up, the Westboro nutters hurt only feelings, they don’t hurt people. Contrast that with the Taliban, ISIS and Al Qaeda’s crackpots who murder, maim and behead anyone who dare reveal a gam from under their their Islamic death cult burqa.
Take Paris as an example of what real intolerance looks like. The Westboro crowd are pikers. Yet there are those who treat them as if they’re as dangerous as the Haqqani network.
That is not to say opponents can’t have a little fun at their expense. Judging by this video, Citizen Journalist Laughing at Liberals was having a big old time with the Phelps family:
As fellow Citizen Journalist Leo Stratton discovered, the Westboro bunch could take only so much before they fled from the Moda Center:
We are repulsed by the hateful approach the WBC crowd takes and they were rightly mocked Saturday night, but we should support their right to say it. That elevates this country far above those who would shut up their rivals, whether it be in court, via the IRS, or by the sword.
And he did it all on Twitter. I began to notice when Thor started posting the #RespectforIslam hashtag with a photo of the Madrid Train bombing in 2004 and then took in the entire thread. The result is Thor has been targeted as a hater (as have I for simply commenting on his tweets) by pro terrorism groups. So, if anything happens to me, you’ll know.
Herewith is Thor’s narrative. I’ll start at the beginning when he began hijacking the #RespectforIslam hashtag:
The FBI Director takes swipe at Portland for its failure to fully embrace the Joint Terrorism Task Force.
The head of the FBI Director James Comey says, as the top counterterrorism cop in America, two things concern him:
The first is the phenomenon of ‘the traveler’ from the United States and Western Europe especially to conflict zones where the progeny of Al Qaeda have flourished in lightly governe or ungoverned spaces in North Africa, throughout the Gulf, the Horn of Africa–especially today in Syria and Iraq. We’ve seen the blossoming of a couple of the Al Qaeda progeny, one you know well, ISIL, the other group called Al Nusra Front.
The other, he said, was home grown radicalization. An example of that kind of terrorist is the case of the Christmas Tree bomber, Mohamed Mohamud, who has just been sent to federal prison for 30 years for the plot that was, thank God, intercepted by the FBI.
There a couple of interesting things about Comey’s comments at a Portland news conference last Wednesday (HT The Zero for the video below). For one thing, he mentioned the need for local cops to participate in JTTFs because they’re likely the first to become aware of bad actors. This was either a swipe at or a plea to Portland’s leaders to fully embrace the JTTF, notwithstanding that yet ANOTHER Portland mayor, Charlie Hales, doesn’t qualify for a top secret clearance.
Portland’s on again, off again relationship with the JTTF is a running joke. The City Council is worried about civil rights violations, an understandable concern, but, in a town that has produced more home grown terrorists than any other so far (Can you think of another one? Minneapolis, maybe?) you’d think they’d at least want to be a full partner on the task force to keep track of these bad guys so, oh, I don’t know, they’d STOP HIRING terrorists! No wonder author John Trudel calls Portland a Soft Target in one of his recent spy thrillers.
In JTTF’s latest report, which the Council reluctantly received and then scrubbed from its website, Police Chief Mike Reese confirmed local cops did work with FBI officials,
On “at least one case of suspected domestic terrorism.”
Oh, is that all? Why is this not front page news? Oh, that’s right. It’s Portland. Just keeping it weird.
Back to the FBI Chief. In his recitation of “Al Qaeda progeny”, Comey didn’t mention The Khorasan Group. This is quite interesting to me. The president made up the name so as not have to admit he hasn’t “decimated” “destroyed” “core” Al Qaeda. You read that right. That group? Made up. They’re all Zawahiri’s buddies who are there to help their friends in the Al Nusra Front. Remember Zawahiri? “Core” Al Qaeda.
The Obama administration portrayed the abruptly emergent “Khorasan Group” as if it were a standalone terrorist organization — a jihadist-combat entity targeting the United States. In reality, the threat the administration was talking about was from al-Qaeda. The administration does not like to admit that al-Qaeda is still a formidable enemy because President Obama has made a habit of falsely claiming to have defeated it. That is why we are hearing about the “Khorasan Group.”
Why did Comey not name them as an Al Qaeda group? Is he peddling the fiction this group isn’t Al Qaeda? We look to these people to keep us safe, not safe from the truth.
Perhaps the more important question is why Comey didn’t announce them as a threat. Remember, they were supposedly plotting an “imminent attack” against the west–us!–which was why we had to bomb them…or something. Comey mentioned two groups, ISIL and Al Nusra Front, but not The Khorasan Group.
Andy McCarthy observes,
As Mr. [Eli] Lake points out, “U.S. officials have walked back claims in the last week that the strikes on the Khorasan Group were an attempt to disrupt an imminent threat.” Moreover, I have contended that the administration had a motive to exaggerate the threats as “imminent.” A president is not required to seek congressional authorization in order to respond militarily to threats of imminent attack. Obama did not want to ask Congress’s approval. Doing so would have launched a potentially embarrassing examination of (a) the president’s claims to have defeated al-Qaeda, and (b) the fact that the “moderate rebels” Obama proposes to aid in Syria work arm-in-arm with al-Qaeda.
So how did a group the Administration insisted over and over was an imminent threat not get mentioned by the FBI Chief?
Politics–local and national–dictates how safe we are. Here we go again. Gown up.
Developing… More when I talk about this on KOGO noon-3 today. Hackers claim to “plant ISIS flag on Sony servers
Is it mere bluster or has the anarchist left joined forces with the terror organization ISIS?
https://twitter.com/LizardSquad/status/503558145784815619 10News reports the hacker group invoked the name ISIS as its reason for going after the plane and one of the occupants: John Smedley of Sony online, makers of Playstation.
Yes. My plane was diverted. Not going to discuss more than that. Justice will find these guys.
The hacker group first threatened the flight and then gloated when the feds ordered it down in Phoenix.
Mohammad Fazl is responsible for the American casualty in Afghanistan, Mike Spann and for helping Osama bin Laden with a pre-9/11 attack.
Mohammad Fazi was called “not a threat” to the US by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. I guess we’ll find out, but if past is prologue, President Obama has just let out a hard core terrorist in exchange for apparent Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl. As Tom Joscelyn reports in the Weekly Standard (here)
Along with a notorious al Qaeda leader […]Fazl did help coordinate a military offensive against the enemies of the Taliban and al Qaeda in Afghanistan the day before. And Osama bin Laden viewed that September 10 offensive as an essential part of al Qaeda’s 9/11 plot.
But that’s not all. These aren’t one and done bad guys. For instance, look at this story from Fox News which reports Fazi is responsible for killing Mike Spann, the first casualty of the war in Afghanistan.
Mike Spann died at the Qala-i-Jangi compound near Mazari Sharit in northern Afghanistan, where he was interrogating detainees captured during the early weeks of the war. Fazi, according to his Guantanamo case file, had been deputy defense minister and commander of all Taliban troops in the northern Afghanistan region at the time of the September 11 attacks. Before that, he was accused by Human Rights organizations of personally supervising the murders of thousands of Shiite and Tajik Sunni Muslims.
Spann’s service was chronicled in the must read book about the war in Afghanistan, “Horse Soldiers” by Doug Stanton.Spann’s daughter learned Fazi’s release and was stunned.
“My initial reaction was shock. I was shocked that our president would release five of the most high-risk prisoners being held in Guantanamo in exchange for one American,” she told FoxNews.com. “As a whole, my family was extremely upset and saddened that our government would do something like this, especially in light of the fact that it seems that people in the intelligence community are fairly united in their belief that these terrorists are likely to seek to further harm Americans in the future. It does become harder and harder to have faith in an administration that is plagued with scandal after scandal,” she said. “I do not believe that it was the right move by the administration.”
It’s hard to chronicle all of outrages by this president. But with only this case he caught his limit.
