Portland Citizen Journalist Banned From Portland Campuses That Frequently Welcomed Radicals & Even Domestic Terrorists

Jailed Portland-area citizen journalist Michael Strickland reportedly has been banned from Portland State University and Portland Community College — places where he frequently found material to highlight on his YouTube channel.

The Oregonian” reported:

“The two schools confirmed Wednesday that Strickland will not be allowed to set foot on campus if and when he is released from custody.”

The newspaper reports that PSU has issued a two year ban on Strickland while PCC’s ban in forever — unless he can convince them otherwise:

“Portland State is banning Strickland for two years. PCC’s ban is indefinite, but Strickland could appeal the decision. Both schools informed Strickland of the ban last week.”

Strickland, who’s in jail on $250,000.00 bail for unholstering his pistol and pointing it toward a mob circling him at a Black Lives Matter protest, wasn’t home to receive the missives. Strickland has been charged with a crime but is fighting the charges.

“Confirmed.” What an odd choice of words. ‘Confirmed’ in journalism-ese means that someone called and asked, ‘Hey, are you going to ban that guy now?’ got them to consider it and then circled back to ‘confirm’ it.

School public safety officials are within their rights to determine who should be banned on campus and, indeed, have a duty to keep their students safe. However, one PCC official told “The Oregonian” they’d never had a problem with Strickland at any of their events while on campus:

“The college didn’t have any significant issues with Strickland at those events, Chester said, but he was routinely “pushing buttons” and made his presence known at certain speeches and published heavily edited* videos from the events that raised eyebrows on campus.

When asked why Strickland was banned from Portland State University the chief of public safety said:

“PSU Public Safety Chief Phil Zerzan said Strickland is not allowed on campus “based on his behavior — pointing a gun at people during a public demonstration.”

It should be pointed out that Strickland has been convicted of nothing. He sits in jail because the Multnomah County DA’s office increased the bail and charges against him in what many see is a political prosecution.

Self defense against a mob — exercising your constitutional rights — can get you banned from campuses. Campuses where, it should be noted, that Strickland found plenty of fodder for his website and his professional reporting work.

Of course PSU and PCC have their own non discrimination policies in which they forswear discriminating against anyone based on all sorts of things. But policies about discrimination and behavior appears to be a moving target for the people making decisions in the ivory towers in the South Park Blocks.

For instance, Portland State University didn’t shy away from embracing  the leaders of its International Socialist Organization, which crashed a Tea Party event a few years ago and proceeded to gay-and-race-bait the gay and black people present at the legal gathering. Indeed, when that was brought to PSU’s attention, they shrugged it off. In fact, they continued to give  the group office space and money.

Portland State is home turf for the anti-Jewish/anti-Israel BDS movement.

The university was set to hire pro-terrorist (yes, really) professor Joel Beinin to the faculty — that is — until a local talk show host and David Horowitz of the Horowitz Freedom Center started asking questions. The school is a well known hotbed of anti-semitism.

Then there was in 2014 when Strickland attended the institution of higher learning’s anarchist conference:

In April of this year, Strickland and another Portland based citizen journalist “Daylight Disinfectant” reported on the paid speakers lined up to address the anarchists conference.

Some of the speakers at the “Law and Disorder Conference” included:

Leslie James Pickering, domestic terrorist – $1,000:  Pickering is one of the founders of ELF, and was classified as the top “domestic terror” threat in the United States by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in March 2001.

Anthony Rayson, Communist, Anti-Semitic, Supporter of Hamas – $1,000.00: In this article Rayson supports terror groups identified by the U.S. Department of Justice, and expounds on his Marxist-Leninist ideology.

More recently, the PCC campus beckoned students to “Imagine a World Without Whiteness” which won it infamy in the national news. Who broke that story? Mike Strickland. It’s not surprising, then, that they would use the excuse of him being charged with but not convicted of a crime to get him out of their hair forever.

And the school was watched and did nothing as leftist students crashed and took over a Trump rally:

There are too many examples of the duplicity and hypocrisy of these people to list here, but just head over to Strickland’s channel “Laughing at Liberals” and see the examples for yourself. Then you might gain an appreciation for how incredibly convenient it was for these same institutions to ban a guy who routinely makes them look so bad simply by holding up a mirror.

Occupy behind PSU student protest Thursday

Occupy students stage a walk out to protest that walk outs are bad

Students at Portland State University plan to walk out of class Thursday in a protest to ‘save spring term’ and show support for the faculty. They appear to be some dead enders from Occupy Portland.

The link takes you to the video below announcing the walk out protest. Protesters claim teachers are underpaid though admitting the average teacher salary increased by 32% over the last ten years.

The video asks you to text your RSVP. Lo and behold what did the protesters send to my in-box?

It’s like old times.

MLK speaker to American college students: “Stop being angry towards America! We live in an incredible nation!” via Laughing at Liberals

Citizen Journalist Laughing at Liberals (see his You Tube channel here) went to the MLK Week festivities at Portland State University expecting to hear the usual America-is-bad-social-justice-good-colonialism-hangover-greed-bad-marxism-good. Oh sure, there was some of that–from the students. But, to his utter shock, the speaker invited to discuss social justice actually denounced the something-for-nothing set and spoke lovingly of his adopted country, America!

Dr. Dapo Sobomehin’s speech praising America, capitalism, voluntarism, and encouraging people to look past the divisiveness of race. Dr. Sobomehin came here from Nigeria when he was 19 years old, and apparently he took full advantage of the opportunities available to him. He made the case for how capitalism and voluntarism are the best ways to help those in need.

He admonished the college students to look around. “Everything is here, everything is here! How do you not see it? …We are living in an incredible nation!”

Since food stamp usage has increased by 50% under President Obama and PSU students are known (by me) to approach shoppers at the local downtown Safeway to offer their $20 food stamp card in exchange for $10, Dr Sobomehin was asked about them. His reply? Feed yourself!

And finally he told them to stop being angry towards America and appreciate what they have here.

It’s probably the last time he’ll be asked back to talk about social justice. Glad Laughing at Liberals was there to be a witness.

Portland State Students Take Hand Gun Training on Campus

Guns Students for Concealed Carry logoFresh over the transom from Citizen Journalist Portland Metro Liberty:

Portland State University students held a concealed handgun license class this week to, as one organizer put it, teach students that not everyone who carries a gun is a ‘crazy psycho.’

The class was free and for both students and faculty and taught by top instructors from “At a Moment’s Notice.”

The student led group is planning another training session in the future. Here’s their Facebook page.
