Scott St. Clair: Latest Occupy Oakland tactic: Murder your parents

Hey kid, it’s Rage Against the Machine; not your parents.
News on the latest in peaceful Occupy tactics comes from the Bay Area where Susan Poff and Robert Kamin, long-time foster parents who were, by all accounts, exactly the people who should be foster parents, were strangled to death late last week allegedly by their 15-year-old adopted son because they objected to him spending so much time with Occupy Oakland.

So if mom and dad aren’t thrilled with little Jimmy running off to play with his Occupy friends – perhaps blocking traffic on the Hawthorne Bridge? – under Occupy logic he’s perfectly entitled to off the old reactionary tools of the capitalist, imperialist, Wall Street one-percenters, especially since they cruelly and with greedy malice aforethought took him to karate lessons – he was a black belt – and enrolled him in a charter school. What awful parents!
Poff and Kamin had devoted their lives to working with homeless, mentally-ill and low-income people and troubled youth – not exactly Wall Street types were they?
But when the kid hangs around with the violent thugs of Occupy Oakland, what do you expect? Just this past weekend, several hundred, perhaps over 400 people, were arrested during the latest demonstration that featured physical assaults, breaking into and vandalizing Oakland City Hall and attempts to break into and seize an abandoned building in the downtown area.
Less than a month ago on these pages, I predicted increased Occupy-related violence, although I must admit I didn’t foresee patricide and matricide. Left-wing billionaire financier, George Soros, has also predicted an uptick in violence, but he did so almost gleefully.
