In December Global Warming Guru, Al Gore, predicted the polar ice caps would melt within the next 5 years (see below). We’ll see. But the graph below shows the polar ice cap levels are about the same as they were in 1979 (shortly after the global cooling/mini ice age scare)

The current cooling period was not predicted by IPCC. The IPCC (UN) predictions for global warming are in pink, reality is reflected in the squiggly line:
