  1. It’s a total travesty to call this person born a woman and who hasn’t completed its sex change operation a “man.”

It still has a vagina, uterus and fallopian tubes. Men don’t come equipped with those.

Tracy Langondino can have her breasts removed, cut her hair short, rename herself Thomas Beatie and dress like a man all she wishes, but so long as she maintains her born with female reproductive organs, she is still a woman.

Some don’t even believe she is pregnant, which makes this more of a hoax than it already is.

  2. It’s amazing what plastic surgery can do these days, isn’t it? Just another sign of how superficial society has become… someone surgically changes their skin and is seriously treated as if this changes who they are.

  3. The headlines need to be amended: “Woman part-way through sex-change procedure gets pregnant”

Not much hoopla in that, though.

  4. Once again, the media’s idea of the most important things it feels Americans need to know. Where is the man who became a woman, but retained his genitals and got his/her girlfriend or “life partner” pregnant? headlines: “Woman gets girlfirend pregnant without artificial means”

  5. The hoax is calling Tracy/Thomas a man. When Tracy, a lesbian activist from Hawaii decided to go through a sex change operation, it was because same sex marriage was illegal in Hawaii.

Moving to Bend, she/he continued testosterone therapy, after undergoing a double mastectomy, but retaining all of her female reproductive organs.

To get pregnant she obtained cryogenic sperm and inseminated herself at home.

She now claims to be “LEGALLY” a man, but regardless of what some court said, she is still a woman biologically.

If i got a judge to declare me “LEGALLY” a penguin, I still would not be equipped to survive in the antartic.

The myth of a pregnant “MAN” is just that, a myth. If she is pregnant, it is a woman who is pregnant, as nature intended.

My personal feelings is this whole thing is to somehow further advance the gay agenda.

  6. Since I hear most of my news on the radio during my long daily commute (and find television representation of “news” anathema),this is the 1st time I ran across this sensationalist information. Firstly, I’m a true lesbian (my birth certificate indicates female :-). The average gay person (NOT an oxymoron) recognizes this as sensationalist crap. So as eddie pointed out, “Woman part-way through sex-change procedure gets pregnant” doesn’t sell. Sadly, that’s what America, at the core, is all about… Does it sell.

Media Buy Into Bizarre Lie of Pregnant ‘Man’

Alexandria, VA– Thomas Beatie, the [Oregon] woman who says she’s a pregnant “man,” will get an enormous national platform this afternoon when she appears on
    The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Given the amount of coverage and shallow reporting, the Culture and Media Institute asks, “Why are the media advancing transgenderism and the lie of a pregnant ‘man’?

CMI’s Director Robert Knight had this to say:

“She can have a baby; she’s not a man
. The media are conducting a charade in which a pregnant woman who had her breasts removed and takes hormones is a ‘man’ having a baby. The circus will continue when Oprah gives this poor, disturbed woman a huge platform. In a clip from the Oprah show on People magazine’s website, Oprah asks, ‘Do you think our country, this world is ready?’

“We’d say the media are making them ready. Oprah’s clip also tells us her cameras have ‘captured it all.’ I doubt they have. Unless Oprah decides to go in a completely different direction from other coverage, she’ll be feeding this bizarre fantasy,”
Knight said. “Some outlets, like Good Morning America today, have brought in medical professionals to talk about potential harm to the unborn child. But none has dealt honestly with the central issue of transgenderism. They refer to Thomas Beatie as ‘he’ in the face of unarguable evidence: a pregnancy.”

CMI’s Senior Writer Kristen Fyfe added,
“This is a provocative story that deserves serious reporting. It seems the media want to play off the sensationalism of a ‘pregnant man’ but not deal with the manifold ramifications. We have yet to see coverage of this story that uses medical experts the caliber of Dr. Paul McHugh from Johns Hopkins University, a Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry.”

CMI recommends that journalists interview experts like McHugh, who, in a 2004 [First Things] article, “Surgical Sex,” explained why he changed his mind about transgender surgery.

“I concluded that Hopkins was fundamentally cooperating with a mental illness. We psychiatrists, I thought, would do better to concentrate on trying to fix their minds and not their genitalia. . We psychiatrists have been distracted from studying the causes and natures of their mental misdirections by preparing them for surgery and for a life in the other sex. We have wasted scientific and technical resources and damaged our professional credibility by collaborating with madness rather than trying to study, cure, and ultimately prevent it,” McHugh wrote.

Dr. McHugh’s opinion is enormously important to this discussion,” Knight said. “There are also many credentialed spokespeople at NARTH (National Assn. for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality ). Failure to include their point of view makes the media culpable in advancing a lie.”

If would like to interview Mr. Knight or Ms. Fyfe about the coverage of transgenderism,
