Senator Jon Kyl in Saturday’s WSJ (see article here) on the political realities of getting border enforcement first before reorganizing the visa process:

“As a practical matter, from a political standpoint, you can’t have enforcement first. Democrats won’t allow it,” Mr. Kyl says. “You have to combine some things that they want along with the stronger enforcement.”

But that doesn’t mean you must completely give in to the demands of the dems. In fact, you need to remember boys that the people who turned the bus around on the illegal immigration bill are voting in 2008. Don’t forget that.
