Nancy Pelosi Calls for Investigating People Opposed to Ground Zero Mosque

The left likes to talk about the opposition to the ground zero mosque as being a knee jerk intolerance toward religion. That’s absurd, of course. The issue is the propriety of putting a mosque in the shadow of the world trade center towers when those very buildings were destroyed and thousands of people killed in the name of Islam. Naturally, it rings hollow when the backers of this mosque and community center say they’re doing it to promote unity. If they want unity they will show sensitivity and move it somewhere else. If they wanted to promote unity they wouldn’t have announced that the mosque would be opened on September 11, 2011–the tenth anniversary of the attack on America. They already have two other mosques in Manhattan. Further, planting a flag of conquest just feet away from ground zero is their true aim and anyone who’s done some reading won’t have trouble figuring that out.
Funding for the mosque has been a huge issue.Who’s backing it? The Wahhabi loving Saudis? Hamas? We don’t know for sure yet. We see here and here however that there are plenty of ties between Imam Feisal Rauf to the Muslim Brotherhood. But Nancy Pelosi isn’t concerned about that. No, she wants an investigation into who’s funding the opposition to the mosque.

“There is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some. And I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded,” she said.

Try the 9/11 families. Try right thinking Americans who aren’t fooled by the in-your-face effort to put a mosque in a place where the landing gear of one of the hijacked jetliners fell.
