  1. Hmmmmm…

So a person who ought to know how buisness works.. Dose not like card check.

But the social engineering idiots in Washington will not listen..

  2. It matters really little if Warren Buffet like card check or not. It will probably pass Congress. Remember, not EVERYONE on the “left” supports Warren Buffet or his ideas.

On a side note: card check is just one provision of Employee Free Choice Act.

The Employee Free Choice Act is extremely necessary as it protect workers’ freedom to join unions. great idea. I am happy that Senator Wyden and Senator Merkley support the legislation.

  3. So Tell me Abel.

Do you work for a Union Job?. If Not.. then how would you like it if 30% of the work force on your job voted to become a union and 60% did not.

Under the EFCA.. The union would be certified.. even if 60% of your workforce voted against it.

Thats not Empoyee Choice.. that is employee coresion. I am not against unions, but the union is supposed to represent the workers.. not be a mandatory entitelment.

  4. So tell me Kitanis,

Do you work for a Union Job? If Not..then how would you feel if you wanted to form a union at your job and you were fired?

Employers control all the information workers can receive, can force workers to attend anti-union meetings during work hours, can force workers to meet with supervisors who deliver anti-union messages, and can even imply that the business will close if the union wins. Union supporters’ access to employees, on the other hand, is heavily restricted.

The Employee Free Choice Act is the only way to ensure employees can have the freedom to form unions if they so choose.

  5. I have belonged to two unions.. and both of them I did loose position evenually.

Unions are not a bad thing. But look at what happened to GM and Chrysler… Paying workers who are furloughed $35.85 a hour for NOT working.. is crippling those car builders.

Ford is also feeling the pinch but at least.. they did not take government bailout money.

  6. Abel,

“Employers control all the information workers can receive…”

Oh, so the unions want to take away the secret ballot so they can give the anti union folks more “information” themselves?
What goons does the union send to ‘inform’ recalcitrant anti union folks?
Among the ways they’d determine who’s against the union is by forcing an open election.
If unionism is such a great idea then let them make their case and have a secret election.
