Here We Go Again: No "Christmas" Tree in Pioneer Square

No Christmas tree at Pioneer Square again. What happens if we call it what it is? Double secret probation or something? It’s a Christmas Tree, for crying out loud. Call it a Christmas Tree. We see from the announcement made by the nice folks at Pioneer Courthouse Square (who have no problem lighting a Chanukah Menorah,) that a “tree” will be arriving but apparently can’t bring themselves to call it a Christmas tree. Look at their flyer:
I see that we have a “tree arrival,” generously orchestrated by that terrific company, Stimson Lumber. Thank you! But our friends at this public/private corporation can’t call it a “Christmas Tree.”
I see we have a “tree lighting ceremony,” but we aren’t told why we would do that at this time of year. Gee, could it be a holiday of some sort? Oh, yes, look! We have a  “holiday market” but aren’t really telling anyone what holiday they’re actually talking about.
And later I see we have a “tuba Christmas concert” for the “tree” that commemorates something or other.
I’m being silly of course. About as silly as the verbal contortions these guys will go through to avoid calling this what it is: a Christmas Tree.
