Lost in the debate over whether the President said you could “keep your insurance plan. Period” or “you can keep your plan if…”, is the real issue of ObamaCare: Choice. While the Democrats like to hammer “cold-hearted” Republicans with stories such as the one this guy on twitter sent me,

those issues, while very important, miss the biggest point. It’s embodied in the headline from the Portland Business Journal

Will Ore. let you keep your health plan?

Will Oregon “let” you keep your health plan? When did it become acceptable to allow government to dictate what kind of health insurance you purchased? Only under ObamaCare or, in Oregon, OrBamaCare program is that a question given serious consideration.
The issue is freedom and choice. We can always marshall our resources and charities to help folks who are destroyed by illness, but we should not blow up the health insurance industry to do it.
