For Bus Project & Willamette Week’s "Rebooting Democracy" Means Nobody Right of Center Is Invited

Oregon’s Bus Project (now in the crosshairs of James O’Keefe; see post here) and Willamette Week are among the organizations putting on Rebooting Democracy event we’ve spent time discussing on the program lately. It’s interesting to take a look at some of the organizers–including Vodka and beer makers and Code for America Brigade–and note that this “rebooting democracy” doesn’t include anyone with a right of center bent. Apparently the University of Oregon J school (also a sponsor) and Crater Lake (also a sponsor) feel no compunction to look in the least bit objective about whom they sponsor. Duly noted.

I’m sad I’ll miss the discussions by a former Congressman Tom Perriello, who I’m sure will wax rhapsodic on free college and light rail for all and it will be fun to see Clackamas County Commissioner Ann Lininger and Multnomah County Chair Jeff Cogen explain how they’ve successfully left out the “democracy” part of any discussion of using millions of our tax dollars for light rail, rip off urban renewal schemes while calling for increasing taxes to pay for their perfidy and mission creep. Apparently that’s “rebooting” democracy.

Ramon Ramirez, the man who thinks illegal aliens are just undocumented Americans will NOT be discussing Mexican gang marijuana grows and heroin being manufactured and brought in to kill the documented Americans.

I don’t have much time to discuss it at this time, but think about why anyone on the left would have to, uh, reboot democracy. They got everything they wanted in the last presidential election. They got redistributionist spending policies, more free money to go to college, a war on rich people, 20+ new taxes to pay from ObamaCare, money from their union buddies (who are plentifully represented at this series of events) and they got the cadres to force the proletariat into paying more for gas and food. It’s their utopian dream writ large! What are they complaining about?

Still, maybe that’s a reason why the rest of us weren’t invited to their party. Even though they won their dream election in ’08, the rest of us banded together and began rolling things back in 2010. Maybe that’s why we aren’t represented in “rebooting” democracy. They don’t understand what real representative democracy is.

Tell ’em where you saw it. Http://www.victoriataft.com
