Back to the earlier comments about dogs, in Florida, the legislature has adopted a law that will allow counties to pass ordinances that will allow restaurants to let patrons bring in their dogs. Victoria Taft voiced general support of the idea. I find the idea repulsive. I would seriously consider not patronizing any restaurant that allowed a patron to bring in any dog other than a service

btw...Several say they support the troops but not the war and quite honestly, that confuses me more than anything else. To me it is like saying I support the Police, but not them arresting criminals.I would rather liken it to saying you support the police, but not the police chief or commissioner and the policies they have laid out.

My father in law, Vietnam Veteran, VA hospital administrator, and volunteer with many veteran and local military organizations was part of the motorcycle escort through the gorge with the wall. I was proud to know he was able to be part of such a great memorial coming to Portland.We've been to the memorial twice already this weekend and will be going again. Backwards, I think it is inappropriate for the media or Congresscritters to broadcast reports like that while there is an ongoing investigation into what happened. Kodiak, for once Backwards is correct. I am not talking about Seeing Eye Dogs (more commonly referred to as Service Animals today). Those dogs are highly trained and present no danger or problems to others, unless they tried to harm the dogs master.What I am talking about are the little everyday ordinary mostly untrained little fuzzballs that people have just for pets.I see them in shopping carts

I have always found it irritating that people feel the need to drag their dogs everywhere!Dogs are allowed in my office building. I can't describe how annoying it is to have a dog running down our floor hallway barking, etc. I've even been nearly attacked on occasion, while I was sitting at my desk.I wish more often, people would exercise some politeness along with their liberties.

Victoria, I too hope your emergency isn't too severe and hope the best for you.As for Open Thread Thursday, a subject that is irritating me and gets little coverage is so many dogs being brought into stores today.I don't mean Seeing Eye Dogs, but the little poodles and garden variety pets masquerading as "Service Animals."
