Wow…if only the media would run with these pictures. I wonder if the hard reality to her would be that alot of people do support our president and the troops and the job they are doing in Iraq and elsewhere. I do feel bad for her for losing her son…and from a mother’s perspective that would be very hard.
Support for the troops should not and should never have been suggested as an indicator for support of the President.
Not long ago, those known as “hardcore conservatives” yelled “terrorist”,”traitor”, and “leave the country if you don’t like it” if you didn’t approve of the war or this President.
To say you don’t support the troops if you don’t support the President or this war simply repackages this same ignorant, un-American rhetoric, in a form that one can repeat without thought or consequence, to feel good about themselves.
That said, not one person should discredit Cindy Sheehan, her son, his service or her values, until they either enlist and serve, have served, or lose a son or daughter to this war. If anything, I would think Bush supporters would follow his example to respect Sheehan’s son’s service and disagree with her stand, rather than mock her person.
Where’s Monday’s “Open Thread” post? Where did it go? Was it deleted because something was posted that Ms. Daft did not agree with?
Yes, very “open” indeed.

Oh, I respect her son’s service. Having been sent to face the enemy, he reenlisted, and I can only think that he did so because he deeply believed in what he was doing.
Unlike his mother, who is basically just an attention tramp.
“Unlike his mother, who is basically just an attention tramp.”
Dang those attention tramps, all of ’em! I’m sick of those folks who stand up and fight for what they think is right and just to effect social change.
And what does this discussion do to foster a solution towards “winning” the war on terror?
Nothing. Did you get that yet? Just another complete distraction. And it seems the only ones distracted with Cindy Sheehan’s no takers book signing are the same ones beating her up.
Give me a break. Seriously.
Hey “anonymous” #1, #2, #4, #5, why don’t you go play on the freeway, punk.
Thanks for letting me know that Cindy Sheehan wrote a book. When I went to Amazon.com to order, I see that her ranking had gone from 11,000 something to 3,600. Somebody other than me must be buying. It also got good reviews.
Wouldn’t this be a better picture of defeat for the day – really?
“I was not strong enough to face the truth,” Cunningham said in a news conference outside the federal courthouse, his voice breaking. “The truth is I broke the law, concealed my conduct and disgraced my office.”
Amen
I wonder why her son is not sitting next to her.

Photo was a typical rightwing wacko smear. It was taken before event began. Can the righties’ tell the truth just once? See following for facts:
