To his brother. Story here.
Let the dead pool begin: Jim’s already weighed in.
Victoria,
Put me down for Friday at 9 am Pacific time.
And if your taking $1 per square, I'll take 5 squares.
I'm always up for making a few extra bucks, especially when it comes to
watching a communist leader die a lonely, miserable death.

Here’s a Dead Pool that’s been going since 2004.
Tell ’em where you saw it. Http://www.victoriataft.com
Many on the left will grieve if he dies soon, but I can tell you thousands of Cuban Immigrants in Miami won’t.
Whether or not they’ll try to reclaim their country, or if they would even want to, remains to be seen, provided the old Red kicks the bucket.
OK, genius. Prove it. Name names.
Aside from Cindy Sheehan, name one person on the left in this country who will “grieve”.
Jane Fonda, Ted Turner, Jimmy Carter, Judith Chomsky, Noam Chomsky, most of the sociology professors at (insert name here) university. I’ve just scratched the surface. Party on.
No wait…late add: Charlie Rangel, Barbara Milkulski, Zoe Lofgren, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, Robert F Kennedy, Jr.,
You can add Danny Glover and Harry Belafonte to your list, Victoria. I would think Ward Churchill would be another as are Barney Frank (D-MA), Jim McGovern (D-MA), Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC-AL), Jesse Jackson (D-IL), Julian C. Dixon (D-CA), James A. McDermott (D-WA),Maxine Waters (D-CA), all members of the Democrat Socialists of America.
I’m also fairly sure there are several more not listed.
Will that do, iknow? All listed have expressed for supported pro-Castro legislation in the recent past.
I guess we should wait and see who shows up at the funeral. The irony is that the death of Castro will unleash even more illegal aliens to come to the US. As one who enjoys Cuban cigars, an end to the stupid trade sanctions will be welcome.
Many on the Right will grieve if he dies soon. One more bogeyman gone. Of course Hugo Chavez is available. But that guy has oil. We should hire Chalabi to find out what is going on down there. The WMDs are gone thanks to JFK. Remember the ill-fated Bay of Pigs invasion? JFK actual took responsibility for that. How refreshing.
Lew and Victoria: how charmingly Pavlovian of you.
This would be the answer to pretty much any question I would pose of you that begins with “Which liberals …“
As you might say: typical.
Pavlovian. Yes, it’s the appropriate word to use, but as easy as it was to name the names, our pavlovian responses didn’t come as quickly as those folks’ to grieve for a man who’s kept his people down for 40 plus years.
Can’t wait. Let the press releases from John Kerry and the other lawmakers’/activists’ offices begin.
“All together, let’s sing: Bush is betraying us.”
how charmingly Pavlovian of you.
What? You didn’t think we could?
Jeez, there’s just no pleasing some people. Ask for name, receive them and what do they do? Accuse you of being mechanical and mindless.
Maybe you could have checked out the connections between the names and Castro first? No, too easy.
Personally, I’m with Mongo this time. I wouldn’t mind seeing sanctions lifted either, nor do I understand why 9 administrations, both parties, will coddle up to every other communist nation, but not Cuba.
At any rate, a little humor I ran into today. Discussing this with a very left co-worker today, he couldn’t wait to inform me that within 30 days, Bush would be invading Cuba, after dreaming up some phony reason.
What will he do when it doesn’t happen, say Bush lied to him about it?
I just thought of something: If Castro dies it’s Bush’s fault!
Victoria, if Castro lives, it will be Bush’s fault. He did nothing to help those poor Cubans.
Of course, if he did help him meet his maker, then he is unecessarily endangering our world position, again.
