Columbia River Crossing: At Least SOMEONE Wants The Peoples’ Input

The Columbian

Even though Vancouver’s Mayor and other folks in power don’t want you to vote on the $10 billion dollar Columbia River Crossing, Jaime Hererra Beutler is willing to listen to what you have to say. Who knows? It could make a difference if not an interesting optic.

She’s hoping you’ll send back the flyers she’s mailing to make at least make a visible statement to those who want to silence those who are actually paying for the bridge.

I see here that The Columbian is very concerned about costs. Not of the bridge. Of this:

To return it to her Washington, D.C., office, residents must attach their own 44-cent stamp.

If only they were as concerned with the light rail bridge costs as they are about that stamp…

Wood Stove Bans But No Budget in Washington

Exodus Without Budget

The Washington State legislature got out of town last night and the reason for the exodus was because they’re being called right back. It seems as if the Legislature can tinker with most things but just not the budget that they’re, by law, required to tinker with.

For instance, as we noted here, the Legislature made a move to ban certain kinds of wood stoves the government cossacks don’t like, but they couldn’t approve a budget.

The Governor trotted out a complete non sequitur having to do with same sex marriage, but they couldn’t approve a budget.

From The Columbian,

Gov. Chris Gregoire has called for a special session as the Washington state Legislature prepared to adjourn without passing a supplemental budget plan.
Gregoire said late Thursday night that she has asked lawmakers to return to the Capitol Monday.
Her announcement came minutes before the deadline, midnight Thursday, to officially close out the regular 60-day legislative session after several hours of speculation about whether Senate Democrats would try to vote on the budget House Democrats passed earlier in the evening. That plan, an agreement between House and Senate Democrats, keeps in place a delayed payment to schools that Senate Republicans said ensured its failure in the Senate.

Ultimately, Senate Democrats decided to not take up the budget Thursday night.

Breitbart, The Vetting III: Obama Mentor, "I Live to Harass White Folks"

He’s a man then Harvard man, Barack Obama, exhorted us to open our minds and hearts up to. At the same time, the man who conceived of the racist “Critical Race Theory” had apparently made two trips to the White House (the White House wouldn’t confirm to the Heritage Foundation if the Derrick Bell on the list was the same Derrick Bell who was Obama’s mentor–see below).
He’s the man who was ‘hidden’ from the 2008 Presidential races (see post here). Why? Because how well would it go down with fair minded individuals to know that the man who wanted to be President consorted with thinkers who blame all on white people, indeed, hold whites in contempt?

Over at Breitbart.tv (here) we see the latest evidence of the man Obama has embraced, put forward, and listened to all of his adult life.
And in this latest video, we see Dr. Derrick Bell talk about his life’s work as, “harassing white folks,”

Occupy The Rent

RENT Logo

If you’re Occupy Portland, an organization that has stolen other people’s use of public space, terrorized shop owners, literally hijacked the public square when others got a permit for it,  do you actually PAY rent? Yes.

Apparently even St. Francis Parish charges rent. St. Francis has been home base over the years for Voz,

the illegal alien day labor people; a group plotting the Multnomah Food Action Plan;  Peak Oil cranks; Bike Swarm; May Day Coalition (can’t wait!) and now Occupy Portland, the umbrella group for all things left.

Voz and I suppose other groups getting space at St. Francis, get taxpayer and private grant money to pay their bills. Occupy Portland hasn’t gotten that far so they taken to Facebook to beg. An alert Portlander drew my attention to this post:

When you run a group that wins support from the Takers and not the Makers, sometimes you can’t make rent.
