News Release from: Portland Police Bureau OCCUPY PORTLAND COLLABORATIVE TALKS
Posted: October 7th, 2011 1:46 PM
On October 7, 2011, representatives from Occupy Portland, the Portland Marathon, the Mayor’s office, and the City of Portland met to discuss plans for Chapman Park and Lownsdale Square.
After the conclusion of yesterday’s successful march, numerous people asked for permission to camp in the parks overnight. Those camping were told that the Portland Marathon has had a long-standing permit that began on October 7 at 9 a.m., to allow for preparations before Sunday’s Portland Marathon. This morning, Occupy Portland’s General Assembly held a press conference and stated that they were in support of the Portland Marathon and wanted to work collaboratively on an agreement that would suit the needs of both organizations.
The communication between all the parties has been marked by a desire to be collaborative. At this time, discussions are productive, but have not reached a final conclusion. We will release further updates as discussions progress.
The mood in the parks is relaxed, and people who are camping are otherwise following park rules. The Police Bureau will continuously monitor the camping situation, but are not expecting any large-scale issues.
Last night, one man and one juvenile were arrested by Central Precinct night shift officers after they were observed by a citizen “tagging” several locations in Downtown Portland, including a marked Portland Police Bureau patrol car. The Portland Police Bureau will make arrests as necessary, as we are committed to public safety. However, we believe there is a spirit of cooperation with Occupy Portland, and that participants are educating each other in an effort to deter further criminal activity.
By the way, that guy up there? He’s asking for free stuff. Apparently after all these “collaborative” talks he’s planning to stay awhile.

Occupiers Ask: Are We Not Worth It?

As they illegally squat in parks in downtown Portland after illegal marching and clogging Portland streets yesterday one Occupier posted this pic and determined that it “needed a close up.” The point being was that this was the essence of the movement. Are We Not Worth It?
Here’s my answer to these narcissistic boobs: Find your own answer. It’s up to you.

Democrats Introduce Bill To Seal Obama’s Presidential Records.

How ironic, after all of the complaining about Bush restricting some of his Presidential records, Obama actually revoking the executive order here in his early claims of “transparency,” now it is Democrats putting forth an effort to seal the records of the “most transparent administration ever” here.

The Bill H.R.3071.IH has been introduced by Brooklyn Democrat congressman Edolphus Towns, who doesn’t say why he feels it is necessary.

For all of the cries of “transparency” when belittling and bashing President Bush & Republicans, we seem to have less insight into what government is up since Obama and the Democrat cartel took power.

Occupy Wall Street Wholly Organized by Socialist Front Groups

Read more at the Blaze

Yes, it brings Occupy Portland into question as well.

It seems “grassroots” requires quite a bit of organization and prodding on the left.

In all, just the same discontent seen since the early 1900’s as Marxists the world over continue to call for change to socialism, in spite of it failing everywhere it has been tried.

*UPDATED* Occupy Portland: If You Threaten the Cops You Don’t Need a Permit

Occupiers Vandalize Cop Car

PROTESTER SENDS NEW THREAT TO COPS! SEE BELOW.
As I have pointed out here the Portland Police Bureau received a fax–who sends those?–to the cops theatening illegal behavior such as marching in the street, refusing to get a permit, occupying local parks. So what happened when the rabble hit the streets at 2 yesterday afternoon? The PPB LET THEM march in the street without a permit and sleep in the parks.
That’s getting tough Portland!

Mayor Sam Adams even commented on his twitter account that he was happy to see such a peaceful event. Peaceful, maybe. Illegal, you bet. Would they have been peaceful if the City had said no to marching in the streets without a permit? Ah, that’s a good question. And obviously it was a question Sam and the PPB had the answer for: no. Nonetheless the Mayor gamely met with the protesters yesterday outside City Hall:

Just popped outside of #PDX City Hall to greet the #OccupyPortland crowd passing on SW Jefferson, & thank them for having a peaceful event.

And thus we have the tale of two standards of the law. One for the threatening left and one for the rest of us. No permit? No problem! Apparently the city considers it a win if you inconvenience thousands of Portlanders by marching in the street–without a permit–as long as you don’t have hell night on their watch.

The leaders of the “leaderless” Occupiers told their minions via bullhorn yesterday what the rules were: “You speak only for yourself, not for Occupy Portland.” Thank goodness, we wouldn’t want to get a bad message out there!
And that brings us to our Portland rabble arrested overnight for vandalizing a police car among other things:

Portland Police Bureau Central Precinct night shift officers after they were observed by a citizen “tagging” several locations in Downtown Portland, including a marked Portland Police Bureau patrol car. Some of the businesses that were tagged include the Pioneer Square Starbucks location and a building located at 888 SW 5th Avenue.
The tags that were painted include, “Occupy Portland,” “Wall Street Loves No One,” “Perspective,” and “Occupy.”

The guy in this photo is 21 Nolan Zane MacGregor. He and his underaged buddy Alexander Lijenquist were busted. Lijenquist was released to his parents. They must be so proud that their 17 year old was out till 1am using illegal products (spray paint) and vandalizing “the man.”
The police tell us that was the only thing of significance that happened over night. Can’t wait for this morning, then, when the cops have to clear out the parks they let the protesters illegally camp in last night:

Seriously, I feel sorry for the honest protesters who genuinely believe wall street is the devil. I really do. I agree to some extent. Their ’cause,’ however incoherent and amorphous as it is, is now being infiltrated by the institutional left. And what will happen when the MoveOn.commies, SEIU and AFL-CIO folks continue to send in their thugs?
These are Obama’s friends and now they’re in at least partial command of what goes on in these protests. And they’ve come complete with a marketing plan.

Dear MoveOn member,

As the nights grow colder, the passion of the brave occupiers of Wall Street only grows stronger.

They’re called “the 99%,” because they stand for all of us left behind by the massive concentration of wealth among the richest 1%….

If you’ve been waiting for an opportunity to stand in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street, today is the day to get off the sidelines. Join in the virtual march by doing what hundreds have done spontaneously across the web: Take your picture holding a sign that tells your story, along with the words “I am the 99%.”

Post an “I am the 99%” photo.

Or, send the protesters a message of support and we’ll deliver it directly to the 99% protesters on Wall Street today.

That’s right, the people who brought you Barack Obama–the worst President in the universe–now agitate for you to trust them because they’ve got a plan for the revolution:

Portland Politicians Cozy Up to Illegal Aliens to Promise them Free Stuff–Like Keeping ICE Off Their Back and Reduced Tuition

Thanks to an alert 5th Listener and the Daniel is Right blog we discovered recently that our friends at Causa–the illegal alien agitation group–was holding a–wait for it–“Equality” confab to call for in state tuition, driver’s license privileges and to keep the immigration la migra (ICE) off their backs. See previous post here.

You’ll never believe who turned up. Portland police and a host of local elected officials who said they’d fight for citizen’s rights for illegal aliens.
Included in the bunch was citizen journalist Dan Sandini–Daylight Disinfectant–who’s released the first of his videos on the subject. See below.

These folks break into the country and then insist on equal rights under a law they’ve already obliterated. I believe in immigration–legal immigration– not in breaking in and then demanding “equality.”

That in a post 9/11 world and after a years’ long fight to get SOME constraints on who should get a driver’s license, state elected officials would promise unfettered access to US identification is unconscionable.
The Portland Police Bureau sent an officer to this meeting to assure these illegal aliens that cops wouldn’t be coming after them. He was gratified that people who “looked like him” were in the crowd. But they’re not the same, you dolt. You uphold the law and the people you were speaking in front of break it–every single day.  The coups de grace was when he told the cheering crowd, “Si, se puede.”
As I pointed out in my piece the other day these Causa folks like to talk a lot about social justice. It’s an attempt to ‘guilt’ a sovereign nation into accepting criminals. Sounds harsh, but it’s true. Here’s what I wrote:

Usually these pro illegal alien groups like to throw around the social justice bromides as if we owed them something for them breaking the law to be here and take a bunch of free stuff. So I’ll use their own ‘social justice’ argument against them here:

You greedy thieves. You’ve broken our laws and stolen a spot that a legal immigrant has been working for. You’ve stolen it because of your greed. You don’t care about our country and our rule of law. You disdain the law and then use our resources –schools and money–to bash us and say it’s not enough. You demand we change our laws to suit your illegality. How dare you? You steal the very food out of the mouths of the workers who have toiled to come to the shores of the United States of America and who have worked hard for it. You take their place with your thievery. Some of you plan to take advantage of schools and taxpayers by having babies here so you can claim them as a citizen to take advantage of our system–getting free housing, food, jobs. That is immoral and unjust to those who have clamored to come here legally. You are greedy because you don’t care about us, you only care about a pay check. You have come only for greedy reasons–to make more money. We have enough greed on wall street. We don’t need to import greedy people and thieves here. You break into our country using armed thugs. You carry their illegal drugs across our borders and get our children hooked on your illegal drugs. You break the law and pretend it’s for the good of your family and that you want to come to a better place and then you try to change us into your home country. You left there for a reason. We don’t want to become your country.

Astroturf in D.C. Grassroots Protest

Makes me wonder how many of our own don’t have a clue what they are out there protesting.

“One group of about ten Hispanic protesters marched behind a Caucasian individual from the DC Tenants Advocacy Coalition, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting rent control in Washington, D.C.”

“Asked why they were there, some Hispanic protesters holding up English protest signs could not articulate what their signs said.”

“Interviewed in Spanish, the protesters told conflicting stories about how their group was organized. Some said it was organized at their church, and that they were there as volunteers. Others, however, referred to the man from the DC Tenants Advocacy Coalition — the only Caucasian in the group — as their ‘boss’.”
