Longview Longshoremen Drama: Add Carjacking to the List of Horribles

Longview Longshoremen and their bused in band of thugs pulled a near-Reginald Denney on guard car at the EGT company during their rampage on Thursday.

Sheriff Mark Nelson Photo Longview Daily News

One of the most frightening parts of the incident was when several saboteures [sic], blocked a Columbia Security officer, (a 48 year old Longview man)dragged him out of his security patrol vehicle, took the vehicle and after recklessly driving it around the EGT facility, crashed it into an embankment. “This is no different than if it had happened on the street, or in the parking lot of any local business.” Sheriff Nelson said. “It was a felonious act.”

When I talked to the union flak, Craig Merrilees, on Thursday he began to say that these acts were nothing compared to corporate America. Sadly, I lost my temper

after that. But here’s what he told a friendly talk show host who does a union themed show (here):

[Corporations] can literally get away with murder and think the average American worker will carry the load for them. It’s just outrageous and when you compare that kind of crime to folks that, you know, may emphasize may have engaged allegedly in trespassing and may have, you know, opened the doors on the hopper cars, and, you know, they don’t compare. We’re dealing with world class criminals when it comes to Wall Street and they’re not getting a finger laid on them.

I guess the ‘evil corporation’ story can excuse just about anything then. In addition to holding the guards “hostage,” “against their will,” “kidnapping,” or whatever term the cops and union guys are using today; here’s what else they did according to the Sheriff:

…officers were confronted by baseball bat and axe handle wielding protesters.” Said Cowlitz County Sheriff Mark Nelson. “They had their protest signs attached to bats and axe handles. When we attempted to make simple, misdemeanor arrests for trespassing, the officers were rushed by the crowd. Officers were literally holding people back to protect other officers attempting to make lawful arrests.” Nelson said.
hundreds of supporters tore down fences, smashed windows, cut air hoses to a grain train, and opened the rail cars, spilling grain all over the ground. Several pieces of evidence, including bolt cutters, pipes, ILWU signs and fliers were left lying around the facility.

I’m with these guys.

Longview Longshore Drama: No Trespassing You **^(*%&$)(*&98

You’ve probably seen the video (here). When it was sent to me last week it had a couple dozen views maybe. This morning it’s up to 89,000+.

The irony, of course, is that this stevedore with the potty mouth was kicking off the KGW reporter from their property and accusing him and his photogs of “trespassing.” That’s rich, no?

Meanwhile back at EGT company the Sheriff says our rowdy bunch of ax handle wielding longshoremen and their bused-in buddies also:

Also continuing is the investigation in to the Thursday morning assault and carjacking that took place on the EGT plantsite after security was overrun by a mob of ILWU supporters. At around 4:30 a.m., hundreds of supporters tore down fences, smashed windows, cut air hoses to a grain train, and opened the rail cars, spilling grain all over the ground. Several pieces of evidence, including bolt cutters, pipes, ILWU signs and fliers were left lying around the facility.
Also of great concern was the perception of safety by the security personnel on scene. After seeing all the cars and people massing, then pouring through their gates, smashing out the guardshack window with a baseball bat, and causing damage, the officers had no way out. They were blocked from leaving down E. Mill Road, and there was no other open access out of the facility. At some point they felt that their personal safety was at too great a risk, and they ran for a vehicle and headed towards a back gate. They reported that a group tried to block them in, but the lights of approaching law enforcement vehicles stopped the group and the officers were able to flee.

No, that’s not trespassing or anything.

Longshoreman Flak Jokes About Longview Guard Hostage Taking

Glad to know that the spokesman for the rampaging longshoremen at the EGT company last Wednesday and Thursday can find some humor in it all.

Let’s take a look at the source of their humor, shall we?

Here’s what the AP and Longview Police Chief said happened to six guards during the illegal rampage by union thugs:

Six guards were detained for a couple of hours after at least 500 Longshoremen broke down gates about 4:30 a.m. and smashed windows in the guard shack, said Longview Police Chief Jim Duscha. He called the detained guards “hostages.”

The spokesman for the union, Craig Merrilees, now says authorities have walked back that characterization but there’s been no correction from the AP or statement from the cop shop that I’ve seen thus far to support that claim.

On Friday the Cowlitz County Sheriff characterized what happened on Thursday like this:

Also of great concern was the perception of safety by the security personnel on scene. After seeing all the cars and people massing, then pouring through their gates, smashing out the guardshack window with a baseball bat, and causing damage, the officers had no way out. They were blocked from leaving down E. Mill Road, and there was no other open access out of the facility. At some point they felt that their personal safety was at too great a risk, and they ran for a vehicle and headed towards a back gate. They reported that a group tried to block them in, but the lights of approaching law enforcement vehicles stopped the group and the officers were able to flee.

He doesn’t use the word ‘hostage” but the guard were “concerned for their personal safety” and couldn’t get out. The Sheriff did add one thing, however: a CARJACKING!

One of the most frightening parts of the incident was when several saboteures [sic], blocked a Columbia Security officer, (a 48 year old Longview man)dragged [sic] him out of his security patrol vehicle, took the vehicle and after recklessly driving it around the EGT facility, crashed it into an embankment. “This is no different than if it had happened on the street, or in the parking lot of any local business.” Sheriff Nelson said. “It was a felonious act.”

Nevertheless that isn’t stopping Merrilees from having a bit of a laugh at the expense of terrorized EGT guards.

“Is there any truth to the AP story that you guys, you, you, you captured six guards and you held them, held them hostage? Any truth to that?”
Union flak Craig Merrilees:
“No, listen we held them for a few hours and released them. No just kidding, that didn’t happen. It was a mistake and the reporter and ah the police chief who was responsible for that uh, that erroneous information uh, recanted that,uh that account and it was based on a, uh, a chaotic and, you know, upsetting situation for the folks involved there …”

And then incredulously, Merrilees goes on to blame their fearfulness on their “lack of experience” and “low pay.”

See, if those guards had been paid more and on the job longer the hostage taking wouldn’t have been nearly as terrifying.

These guys are just a laugh riot! Some joke, huh?

Longview Lonshoreman Union Drama: All Quiet Now But For How Long?

“We gave them the hell that they deserve,” said the flak for the Longview Longshoremen. And now everyone is waiting for to see if the Longview Longshoremen’s union loses it again.

From Friday till today it appears that things are quiet at EGT, the company where last week hundreds of out of control union thugs went wild. According the Cowlitz County Sheriff the thugs not only held guards against their will but in fact committed a carjacking.

Also continuing is the investigation in to the Thursday morning assault and carjacking that took place on the EGT plantsite after security was overrun by a mob of ILWU supporters.  From a 5th Listener who can see the facility from his house:

I discovered what I will call the first train circling the EGT facility. The train comes in from the North, goes around the East end and heads West between the silos and the river. When out of doors I could hear the unfamiliar (new) sound of the extraction units taking the grain from the cars. From time to time I could tell that the visible cars were slowly advancing. That is — from time to time they would advance to a new position. It seems that the unloading stopped at about 4:00 p.m.

SABA AHMED IS A 9/1 TRUTHER, AND HAS TRIED TO CONVINCE US THAT THE CRASH IN SHANKSVILLE, PA WAS STAGED, AS WAS THE PENTAGON CRASH, AS WAS THE TWIN TOWERS…As I’m listening to 9/11 interviews of surviving family members and their phone calls on the plane with their loved ones, before crashing in Shanksville, PA, and interviews with survivors of the Pentagon crash, and interviews of those trapped inside of the Twin Towers, I SAY SABA AHMED MUST NEVER BE ALLOWED INTO ANOTHER GOP MEETING AGAIN!!! SHE IS NOT A FAN OF AMERICA, AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO FOOL PEOPLE INTO THINKING ANYTHING OTHERWISE.
