Westboro Hate Group Announces Protest of 9 Year-Old’s Funeral

The Westboro cretins from Topeka, Kansas, (I refuse to call them either Baptist or a church), led by life-long Democrat Fred Phelps, who has five times been a candidate for political office in Kansas Democratic Party primaries and is well-known for the hate rhetoric against Gays and the American Military by protesting at funerals, has announced they will protest the funeral of 9 year-old Christine Green, killed in the carnage Saturday, January 8, 2011 by Jared Loughner.

The hate group posted a message that says in part, [Christine] “was killed for your rebellion when God sent the shooter to deal with idolatrous America.”

If anything has ever been able to bring the feuding political rhetoric in America to a temporary halt, it is this hate group showing up at funerals.

Speculation is, the outlaw biker gang, Hell’s Angels, who has stood between the hate group and families in the past, might once again do so.

Kitzhaber Says AZ Shooting Due to Political Divisions

H/T Ann Marie for calling our attention to this.
I think we’ve established this AZ shooter is a nutball, but apparently the Governor didn’t get word in time to take this pap out of his speech. The Governor makes the ‘mistake’ of mischaracterizing the shooting and then expects us to say nothing because to say something is to be “ideological” and “divisive” which will make “progress difficult.”
As we embark on this session each of us has a choice to make. We can remember that the common commitment, or we can allow the divisions of ideology to be magnified making progress difficult.
We have seen that happen here; we have seen it in Washington DC; and as we saw it two days ago in Arizona, these divisions can turn tragically toxic.
Let each of us choose to turn away from that path because the challenges we face dwarf those divisions. Let us debate; let us disagree; but let us never question each others motives, patriotism or love for Oregon.

Victoria,

Why did you choose the phrase “painting the targets” as your blog motto?

There is no moral equivalence between left and right in this issue. You can keep trying but save your breath as I’ve seen too much.

Stephen Budiansky
http://budiansky.blogspot.com/2011/01/not-us-cont.htm :

“For as long as I can remember, I have heard conservatives blaming everything that is wrong in the universe, from violent crime to declining test scores to teen pregnancy to rude children to declining patriotism to probably athlete’s foot . . . upon Dr. Spock, Hollywood liberals, the abolition of prayer in school, Bill Clinton, the “liberal 1960s,” the teaching of evolution — in other words, upon symbols, rhetoric, cultural norms, and the values expressed by political and media leaders. Yet from the moment when someone gets a gun in their hands, apparently, society ceases to have any influence whatsoever on the outcome and individual responsibility takes hold 100%. Something is driving the tripling of death threats against congressmen (and the concomitant rise in threats against Federal judges and other villains of the right, from Forest Service rangers to climate scientists) and it isn’t the sunspot cycle.”

Malkin: A Case of Liberal Projection

It appeared as if there was a cynical, political and organized effort to link the crackpot shooter in Tucson with the right. “Politico, the Beltway website, chimed in by quoting a “veteran Democratic operative” advising the White House “to deftly pin this on the tea partiers,” just as “the Clinton White House deftly pinned the Oklahoma City bombing on the militia and anti-government people” in 1995. Lew and others have adequately addressed those issues–how about that photo shopped voter card?–but conservative Michelle Malkin makes it her business to keep tabs on the left. If there is a connection between political speech and actions, then Malkin amply makes the case here against the left.

Oh, there’s more. Check out after the jump and make sure you see Malkin’s huge compendium of left hate.
