Obama’s FCC Votes to Consider Controlling Internet. Elections Have Consequences.

The FCC has never regulated the internet. It has nothing to do with their charter. Today, by fiat, they announced their intentions to start considering rules to bring about so called “net neutrality” rules to act as a sort of traffic cop on the internet. The Legal Times (here)

In a notice of proposed rulemaking, the FCC invited public comment on six principles intended to “preserve and promote an open Internet.” “Given the potentially huge consequences of having the open Internet diminished through inaction, the time is now to move forward with consideration of fair and reasonable rules of the road,” said Chairman Julius Genachowski in a statement. “Indeed, it would be a serious failure of responsibility not to consider such rules, for that would be gambling with the most important technological innovation of our time.”

Now here is what the above actually means. My commentary in brackets.

In a notice of proposed rulemaking [we’re talking about making rules on something that’s not even in our purview], the FCC invited public comment [you have to fight for freedom on the internet now that they’ve asserted our right to control it], on six principles intended to “preserve and promote an open Internet” [only with government control will there be openness on the internet]. Given the potentially huge consequences of having the open Internet diminished through inaction [if we don’t do something then we can’t control it and we’re the only ones who can bring openness], the time is now [while there’s an Obamunist in the White House who has our back] to move forward with consideration of fair and reasonable rules [as we government aparachiks interpet ‘fairness’] of the road,” said Chairman Julius Genachowski in a statement. “Indeed, it would be a serious failure of responsibility not to consider such rules [we need to seize control before anyone figures out that it’s not our job], for that would be gambling with the most important technological innovation of our time” [don’t tell anyone that since its inception the internet has been free and unfettered and available for use by anyone without the goverment’s help or hindrance.]

More School Kids

As stated on the Eyeblast site, “Mr. B and the students of Room 8, Unknown School The Obama Song (Proud American) By Mr. B and the students of Room 8 November 2008”

And, what an insult to the memory of Martin Luther King Jr. to use his I Have A Dream speech in relation to the very one trying to take everyone’s freedom.

People Get Hip to "Man Made" Global Warming Claims

The survey, by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, found a sharp decline over the past year in the portion of Americans who see solid evidence that global temperatures are rising. According to the survey, conducted between Sept. 30 and Oct. 4 among 1,500 adults reached on cell phones and landlines, fewer respondents also see global warming as a very serious problem; 35% say that today, down from 44% in April 2008.

The survey also points to a decline in the proportion of Americans who say global temperatures are rising as a result of human activity. Just 36% say that currently, down from 47% last year.

Is Obama Orchestrating the Attacks on the Chamber of Commerce Too?

OBAMA + (ACORN + PROJECT VOTE + SEIU) X PAY CZAR – ATTACKS ON US CHAMBER OF COMMERCE = REDISTRIBUTIONISM/TYRANNY

Could be. Look at this video and then go here for the kind stuff the left is pulling on the Chamber.
Here’s SEIU’s (ACORN’S buddies) President, Andy Stern, declaring that the US Chamber of Commerce has ruined our country. Make sure you also hear the part where President Obama says he wants to paint the nation purple with SEIU.

V.P.Cheney: Obama, Keep Your Commitment

August 17, 2009 Barack Obama, current occupant of the Oval Office, made a speech before the Veterans of Foreign Wars Convention in Phoenix, Arizona.

In that speech, the glib Obama stated, “I will only send you into harm’s way when it is absolutely necessary. And when I do, it will be based on good intelligence and guided by a sound strategy. I will give you a clear mission, defined goals, and the equipment and support you need to get the job done. That’s my commitment to you.”

Two months after receiving a request for that “equipment and support you need to get the job done,” Obama is only close to deciding when he might decide on what to do.

Wednesday evening, October 21, 2009, V. P. Dick Cheney, after receiving the Center For Security Policy’s Keeper of the Flame Award made a speech in which he said of the Obama regime, “It’s time for President Obama to make good on his promise. The White House must stop dithering while America’s armed forces are in danger.”

It’s time to wage war on the terrorists instead of warring with Fox News.

UPDATE: As expected, the Obama regime adamantly denies they are dragging their feet saying, “What Vice President Cheney calls dithering, President Obama calls his solemn responsibility to the men and women in uniform and to the American public.”

Left unexplained is how he was so decisive in rapidly dispatching his goons against Fox News.

Commander in Chief Helps Orchestrate War Against Fox News

US News and World Report has a litany of moves and counter moves between the President and Fox News. For starters, it’s not just the Obamunists in the White House orchestrating the attack. In fact the President is in on all of it:

Fox ran a clip from NBC’s Savannah Guthrie’s interview with Obama (a clip that did not air on NBC Nightly News), in which she asked if it was “appropriate for the White House to say what is and is not a news organization,” noting his “advisers raised this issue.” President Obama replied, “Well, no. The — I think that what our advisers have simply said is, is that we are going to take media as it comes. And if media is operating basically as a talk radio format, then that’s one thing. And if it’s operating as a news outlet, then that’s another. But it’s not something I’m losing a lot of sleep over.”

Some critics are starting to emerge. From US News:

The Christian Science Monitor asks, “Has the Obama administration’s broadside against Fox News – claiming that it is not a news organization – chastened the network in the slightest? The behavior of Fox News personalities would suggest not.”
The Kansas City Star‘s Dave Helling said “the bicker-fest between the White House and Fox News is angering the cable TV organization’s conservative defenders — while confusing Obama supporters.” Fox News’ Special Report reported that Democratic strategist Bob Beckel said “what doesn’t make sense to him are the attacks on Fox News. Beckel says his own polling over the last two years…has found that 50 percent of the viewership of this channel consists of independents and Democrats.”

And SPJ still offers no comment on a President who uses all the powers at his disposal to go to war against a news organization.
Jay Leno had it right the other night when he cracked, “The president has ordered 40,000 new troops——-to do battle against Fox News.”
