Does this message even tell us how Obama feels about the death penalty?
AND
Does his feelings on the Death penalty really tell us anything about how tough he is on Gang violence or Terrorism?
What else was in this bill that Obama was against.
What exactly does he believe related to the death penalty?
I know people who are blatenly against the death penalty, who believe in being tough on terror.
Anytime I hear about someone voting against or for some bill, with some subset of the information in it offered, I have to wonder what else was in the bill.
Since we clutter all the legislation with crap, that often has nothing to do with the bill, we make it even harder for anyone to get anything useful from this type of advertising, without doing a whole bunch of research (which most don't have the time to do).

I think the two questions I asked are the very thing that this clip is trying to get people to assume Obama has a specific view on, and what that view is.
How can you call that irrelevant, when it is the core of how the clip is interpreted?

If George Bush is so tough on terror, why has Osama Bin Laden not been caught? Further, why wasn't he the primary focus of the ongoing war, as opposed to Saddam Hussein and Iraq, who have been proven to have had NOTHING to do with 9/11?
Heres some food for thought: If Obama wins the nomination; he will beat Mcain in November. If Hillary wins over Obama; she will beat Mcain in November. In a worst case scenario, Mcain wins and kicks Bushie out of the White House. With a Democratic controlled congress Mcain Will enter office as a lame duck and would be forced to do what the Dems want for the next four years anyway!

Getting Bin Laden is a step towards justice. It's a sign that we know ourwartime priorities and that we're not just picking a fight because we feel like it.
Bin Laden is responsible for the deaths of thousands of people in NYC, Pennsylvania, and Washington DC.

Thanks for the link to the story. I wonder (if) when the MSM will pick up the story or are they so wedded to the global warming lies that they can't gulp and tell the story.
But please, by all means feel free to ignore the final portion of that very short article:

It's not relevant, Eileen, what Obama believes about the death penalty. The point of the clip is that he didn't want to extend it to gang murders. This has no bearing on his feelings on the death penalty itself.
It's not relevant because we can't know the entirety of the legislation so there's no point in trying to distort the import of the clip on the basis of "we don't know every possible relevant fact."
I think, iknowhowtospell, that Lew's point isn't that there's no reason to go after Bin Ladin but rather, it ultimately has no value beyond symbolism. Symbolically, we'll nail the planner of many terrorist attacks against the US and that's certainly a good thing to do. But will Al Quaeda and similarly sophisticated terrorist groups crumble without him? No. Thus, Bin Ladin isn't so much a solution to the problem as a symbol to us of getting justice. I believe that was Lew's point.
As to the caveat at the end of that little article, why is it of any significance? There's gaping holes in global warming theory. There's gaping holes in global cooling theory. Either one is extraordinarily educated guesswork so why is a statement to that effect singificant?
It's not relevant, Eileen, what (Keithy the Resident Rino Seminar Blogger Moore) or his friend IKNOWHOWTOSPELLCOMMUNISM think about the death penalty.
