His church is not racist. Thats an all black congregation there, and thats the way they speak in those southern baptist churches. Its a style. (not too mention out of all the millions of preaches he's given those are cherry picked by conservatives just to get to Obama- because thats what it is all about and if you think otherwise you are oblivious)

That preacher is old enough to remember the black struggles of the civil rights movement. Martin Luther king was assainated nearly 40 years ago- ao long ago that many people are to young to know or really understand their own history. This man brings this struggle to life so that his congregation will remember; and continue to improve their situation.

Victoria -

So yesterday I posed a question regarding the f-word; namely, you'd deleted two of my posts (now three) due to "potty language". I asked what the difference was between Klatu's version (two asterisks), a hypothetical version (one asterisk), and the version I used once (no asterisks). You deleted this post.

The question was, is it the word that's offensive, or the word's meaning? And if we know what the word is supposed to be, what does it matter if it's written out in its entirety or not.

Your response today at 12:16 p.m. was, and I quote:

"No Potty Talk.
Period. "

Now, in YOUR VERY OWN POST FIVE MINUTES LATER, you post the words "God Damn" (a phrase that also got one of my posts removed), "N*gger", "God Damn" (again), and "Sh*t".

What gives? Double standard much?

This Racist Liberal Black Church and Biggoted Racist Pastor Wright and the Racism and ignorance of Barrack Obama prove that America is not ready for a Socialist Liberal Black American For President. Black America should look to the other side of the isle for a candidate for President.

The other side of the isle? Where Gilligan and the Skipper might be?

I guess you made my point, I know.
But you're right in this respect: I should have ** the letters to obscure the words a bit more.

Hey, jonny, you're sooo yesterday. The msm ordered more tapes of the wrong reverend, and.....guess what? MORE profanity, MORE racism, MORE anti-Americanism, MORE hatred.

It's not a "style". It's malevolent. And it's for sale if you want to purchase it for verification.

This poison is not Dr. MLK,Jr's. message. It's not history, because it's factually incorrect. It's not intellectually honest because it's openly racist.

Since you have just slandered all "southern baptist churches," please name one that honors the islamo-fascist farrakhan, and claims that winning WWII was a bad move, and sings "God **** America, and uses profanity from the pulpit, hates "whitey," and claims 9/11 was our fault. Thought so. Moron.

Me thinks, thou dost protest too much. It is so interesting the constant complaining by repubes on this Rev Wright thing. Nothing on Pastor Haggee's anti-catholic, anti-semetic, racist and anti-american diatribes, but with Rev. Wright, we can't hear the end of it. Maybe Repubes like the Botox Bimbo are afraid the Rev. is correct. Maybe God has damned America. OR maybe it is because a black man said it that they cannot tolerate it. I mean, how dare this black man say such things. Who does he think he is, all uppity like that? Maybe Victor(ia) needs to analyze why she feels the need to verbally assail Barack Obama daily. We need not look any further to see a great example of a high tech lynching than this blog and the microphone at KPAM.

Lew Waters said...

Hate to tell you, Jonny, but that is NOT the way they speak in Southern Baptist Churches, Black or White.

One look at the Pastor and he is far from a poor Black Preacher, today.

While Wright undoubtedly has accomplished some good in his life, he has been the spiritual mentor to a man seeking to become the leader of the free world.

What does it say that Obama would accept spiritual guidance from a man who speaks against another race and who says, "God Bless America? No, No, No, GO***MN America."

How do you accept guidance from the man who refers to the country you wish to lead as the "U.S. of KKK A?"

How does he embrace teachings from a Black Preacher who calls the first Black Secretary of State, Condoamnesia?" I would think Blacks would be proud of others like Condoleeza Rice for becoming so educated and advancing up the ladder of society.

Must Blacks be confined to the Liberal Plantation assigned them by Democrats? Don't other Blacks allow for their own to have their own minds and values?

Isn't it about time our leaders stopped this divisive nonsense and actually embraced the "tolerance" they demand others have?

Hi Victoria,

More than enough comment's been made on both the left and right about Wright. I've yet to hear anyone defending what he says.

Obama's speech, which I'm sorry to see you don't link to or play during your show (at least while I was listening tonight), may have been one of his most interesting and important. For those who want to know how the man reacts in a tough situation, take the time to read it. It covers race, patriotism, love, friendship, tolerance, humility and the rest. If you find anything you would not like your kid to admire emulate I'd be suprised. Goes just a bit beyond "I'm a uniter, not a divider".

KLATARD--you are missing the point in Victor(ia). Refer to this photo and you will see why IT is referred to as "VICTOR(IA)". Probably a product of over botoxing?

jonny said...

You all are taking those statements he made out of context. They really get wild in their sermons, like that- thats the style I was referirng to. And these were all made to a black audience. One of the fundamental rules of giving speeches is to know your audience.

Klatu said...

Ya Know I hate to say this but I agree with one point that Racist pastor Wright said. FDR did know that the Japanese were coming prior to DEC.7 1941. The Democrats and the estate of FDR owe the Late Admiral Kimmel and General Short a complete APOLOGY and History should be re-written about Dec.7 1941. The History Channels "Sacrifice at Pearl Harbor" is in my opinion Fact.

But the rest of what the RACIST Pastor WRIGHT said is bunk.

Abel Johnson said...

Lets take a look at what Rev Said. Was he all that wrong? Really?

We bombed Nagasaki & Didn’t bat an eye

Isn't this true? The United States did bomb Nagasaki and didn't bat an eye. Most scientists that developed the bomb disagreed but Oppenheimer, Truman and Civilian leadership agreed with jubilation.

After all remember, Japanese were depicted as less than human. And the very groups that proclaimed to stand up for American Civil Rights like The American Legion called for the Internment of American Citizens of Japanese Heritage and in some cases called for their extermination.

Here is just a few little pictures that get the point across. It can be hard to disagree with Rev. Wright knowing the history of the Manhattan Project.

Stay on the...

Stop Useless Resistance

You can't pop...

Racism was how this country was founded

So the first Americans didn't use slaves from Africa? They didn't demean, indignify and murder the Indians that were on the land first. What if anything then is the Trail of Tears? The Trail of Tears refers to the forced relocation in 1838 of the Cherokee Nation from their lands in Georgia to the Indian Territory (present day Oklahoma) in the Western United States, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 5,000 Cherokees.[1] In the Cherokee language, the event is called Nunna daul Isunyi—“the Trail Where They Cried”.

Sounds like a wee bit 'o racism to me. And as this was the founding of what we see as the U.S. today, is Rev. Wright all that wrong?

Hillary Aint No N*gger

With the way that Conservative hate Hillary so much, I suspect they will call her one, if she hasn't already been, soon enough,

Bill Treated Me Like Monica
I guess who are we to disagree

God D***America

According to Pastor Haggee, God did with Katrina. And should according to Pat Robertson because of a no vote on "Intelligent Design".

Chickens Come Home to Roost

They most often do. He seems correct on this.

We're the Same as Al-Qaeda

I think he is wrong on this one. Al-Queda knows where Osama Bin Laden is, we don't and probably never will.

God's Sick of this Sh*t!

Because Pat Robertson hasn't heard different, so Rev. Wright could be on to something.

Thanks Abel Johnson for the insight. Whats more, at the end of his speeches he turned all around into christs message of love. It just goes to show what happens when you take good speeches out of context.

But the truth is this has nothing to do with Reverend Wright. They are grasping at straws to get at Obama. The ULTRA (and I do mean ULTRA) conservative coalitions have enough corruption to try to assassinate Obama, politically or idealogically (Fortunately Obama has a very strong security team).
It is 40 years ago that Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King were Assassinated. And that apawned Nixon and the prolonged war in Southeast Asia and Nixon spawned Reagan and Reagan Spawned Bush. Now Forty years later this country actually stands a chance to WIN AND BE PROSPER AND BE FREE ONCE AGAIN!

Yes..

We did drop a atom bomb on Nagasaki.

But why don't you look a little farther into the conflict that brought about that event.

Japan started a expansionist war with China well before the attack on Pearl Harbor. Raping, pilaging, killing civilians in the areas it took all along the way. Sunk a American vessel during the event no less. (USS Panay) and the US did not go to war. Then after the attack on Pearl Harbor.. invaded more than a few areas. Took Korean and Filipino women and forced them to be "comfort" (Prositutes)women for their soliders... Nice Guys...
And its documented.. the Japanese used some of the American and British Prisoners of War for Chemical Warfare experiments, and even just simply beheaded a few more just for kicks.

Yep.. we dropped a atom bomb on the Japanese.. and guess what.. we were at war at the time. Look up the casualty estimates for the invasion of Japan (Operation Olympic and Coronet) that would have brought about a estimated 850,000 plus casualties to do it.

Truman made a hard choice and guess what.. the war ended.

Let me get this straight, jonny... the "black style" is to get carried away and start flinging around "the white man done me wrong and still does" type statements which would be racist if uttered by someone non-black? And you don't think calling this a "black preacher style" is a little bit insulting? Strangely, just taking Reverend King as an example, I don't recall hearing this sort of thing from black preachers other than Wright. Amazing, eh?

Honestly, jonny, the situation of the black man would be improved if there were no more Reverend Wrights and Reverend Jacksons and Al Sharptons and Louis Farrakhans. Do you honestly believe that blacks benefit from loud voices in every medium telling them that the white man wants to keep them down, that the white man is responsible for everything, that racism is why a B average black student isn't admitted to the same school as a B+ average white student, that they are oppressed, that they are denied, that they are hated and conspired against by everyone... do you really and truly believe that pounding blacks with that sort of pessimistic language day in and day out helps them?

Let's be sane here... what blacks would benefit from (and what every person ever born benefits from, by the way) is every voice in every medium repeating the message that yes, racism exists and yes, people are prejudiced and imperfect, but the only obstacle to your success in life is YOU. Isn't that the superior message? Never letting someone forget that they are capable of anything and can be as great as any rich white guy?

Andrew Carnegie came to the US with barely a dollar to his name and by the time he was an old man, was dumping millions of dollars into charitable programs. Is it more beneficial to blacks to hear that "you're black so you can't be successful because of the evil white man" or to hear "that could be YOU someday, young man... you're no better or worse than Carnegie and you can be successful just like he was"? Wright isn't making people better off with messages about how they're downtrodden and helpless because of their skin... he's benefitting from convincing people that they're helpless and that some mystical outside force will always be there to prevent their success. Wright's real harm isn't to America... all he can do is rage against the great land he lives in but his words can't stop it from being great. No, the real harm a Wright does is to those who listen to him and believe that they're still slaves in chains, chains created by their belief that they're in chains. A black man is no better or worse than a white man, no better or worse than a yellow man, no better or worse than a red man. I just wish that one of these "black leaders" would start telling them that.

Oh, and jonny? It doesn't make you sound all that rational when you start babbling about some "ULTRA conservative coalition" that wants to assassinate Obama. That sort of idiocy is worthy of Klatu's style of making idiotic claims and ranting mindlessly... don't lower yourself to that level, please.

Words from another angry black preacher:

"God didn't call America to engage in a senseless, unjust war. . . . And we are criminals in that war. We've committed more war crimes almost than any nation in the world, and I'm going to continue to say it. And we won't stop it because of our pride and our arrogance as a nation. But God has a way of even putting nations in their place...[God will say:] And if you don't stop your reckless course, I'll rise up and break the backbone of your power."

Martin Luther King

Scottiebill said...

Iago: At least MLK didn't call upon God to damn America, he didn't refer the the U.S as the United States of KKK America, he didn't call for the destruction of Israel, unlike your hero, the Wrong "Reverend" Jeremiah Wright, did.

And he didn't cater to the racial bigots of his time, like Obambi did with the Wrong "Reverend" Jeremiah Wright.

The only thing that I can see wrong with MLK now, 40 years later, was that he kept on his groupie, Jesse Jackson.

Sidebar: Jackson does not deserve nor is worthy of the title "Reverend" any more than Wright is.

And MLK's groupie has gone on to become the country's most prominent race-baiter, second only to Jeremiah Wright and Al Sharpton. And, of course, Louis Farrakhan.

Martin Luther King, Jr. must be rolling over in his grave right now. He surely wouldn't be very proud of Jackson or Wright.

jonny said...

Reverend wright is old enough to remember the civil rights movement. Black people have been historically oppressed. The sermon was presented to a black audience. Its different when the historically oppressed people fight to get ahead. Thats the context you choose not to understand. Think about it this way. At many high schools they have "African American student groups', but they are noy allowed to have "Euro American (white) student groups". Think about the different implications and you will find your answer.

An d on your second rebuttal: Obama has a strong security team; and I am not worried. But his beliefs, his sense of duty, and his style remind many people of JFK, RFK, and MLK.

Keith Moore said...

True, Reverend Wright is old enough to remember the civil rights movement. Reverend Wright is also old enough to be expected to exercise some level of wisdom and be capable of comparing and contrasting "whites only" water fountains with the present situation. You keep providing me ammunition for my assertion that the legitimate defenses of Reverend Wright make him sound worse than he did before; you should really stop while you're ahead.

Speaking of ahead, that's where black people are now. I turn on ESPN and see blacks earning six figures right next to a white and their commentary is treated with equal reverence. We have a black secretary of state who's got heavy-duty academic plaudits and is well-respected by the white rich-boy president she serves. Before becoming secretary of state, Colin Powell was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and before that, made the country proud by kicking Saddam Hussein's butt in the first Iraq War. We have a black preacher who ran twice for the Democratic nomination, both times treated respectfully even if he didn't get nominated; subsequently, the Democrats may nominate a black. And before you decide to be snotty and try and compare that to the Republicans, bear in mind that Condeleeza Rice was openly advocated as a nominee by numerous Republican pundits; that she chose not to run for the nomination was her choice. Former heavyweight champion George Foreman's grills are well-known and whites eagerly snap up a cooking appliance with the name of a black man on it and the same black man promoting it. All races respect Mohammed Ali and I guarentee that the audiences going insane over Stevie Wonder's music aren't entirely black. Even before desegregation, black singers and writers were well-respected; names like Scott Joplin, "Duke" Ellington, W.E.B. DuBois, and Booker T. Washington come to mind. And you babble about the historically-oppressed race needing to fight to get ahead? You must live in a totally different world than the rest of us if you can't see how far ahead blacks already are. By no means are they "behind" whites.

Yeah, I know. Seperate and unequal... Jim Crow would be proud.

The first claim is irrelevant and makes you sound like an imbicile but I agree with the second claim... in his populism, personal magnetism, and speaking abilities, Obama is certainly like MLK, JFK, and RFK.

jonny said...

Just curious Keith, since you seem to be an expert, exactly how many of Reverend Wrights sermons did you attend?

And for your second comment, It is pattently ridiculous that you can Judge racial diversity by how mnany blacks you see on TV. George Forman grill? I'm soryy many Im having trouble laughing and tyoing at the same time! Eat Embicile! LOL!!!!

Keith Moore said...

As many as you did, jonny. We're both experts, you see.

George Foreman is a black man. He's got a grill named after him that all races buy and enjoy. Said grill makes him a nice big chuck on money. This is not an inconsequential fact. I also don't judge racial diversity on by television although I never claimed to have done so. I judge it by analysis of objective conditions and facts.
