"Fascism is an authoritarian political ideology (generally tied to a mass movement) that considers the individual subordinate to the interests of the state, party or society as a whole. Fascists seek to forge a type of national unity, usually based on (but not limited to) ethnic, cultural, racial, religious attributes. Various scholars attribute different characteristics to fascism, but the following elements are usually seen as its integral parts: patriotism, nationalism, statism, militarism, totalitarianism, anti-communism, corporatism, populism, collectivism, autocracy and opposition to political and economic liberalism"
Voting is an integral part of a Democracy. Your "call of arms", so to speak is a call to foul our Democratic process through incincere voting. Abraham Lincoln is rolling in his grave.
I say go ahead and vote. But Vote for the “D” that will make the best president, because voting incincerely is a threat to our Democracy as a whole.
Sorry bud. Its Going to Be Obama. Why? First of all Victorias (or should I say Rushes) little Fascist plot has not attracted enough attention to even makea dent. Whats more Obama's already got the thing in the bag.
jonny you maybe right in Oregon, But "Barick Osama Bama Osama has troubles in Primarys. He's a Caucus boy. Hitlery is the Primary GIRL. And its Primary's mostly Left for you Socialists. So will be doing our part to help HITLERY anyway we can through maybe June or July, maybe? Yes jonny OPERATION CHAOS its the FASCIST THING TO DO
Just out of curiosity, Klatu.(or anyone else, too) The national polls reflect it may be a tight race to the white house. If Mccain loses the election- who would you rather have as an alternate choice? Hillary or Obama?
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows John McCain’s lead growing against both potential Democratic opponents. McCain currently leads Barack Obama 49% to 42% and Hillary Clinton 51% to 41% margin (see recent daily results). African-American support for Clinton has collapsed, falling to 55% in the general election match-up. Obama, on the other hand, earns solid support from African-American voters but attracts only 36% of white voters in a match-up with McCain.
Ps: I stopped looking at anything from CNN-DNC along time ago
Jonny, the point of "Operation Chaos" type things is to get the candidates to bloody each other and it really is working. Because the states in which this manuever can be pulled are all proportionate, Republicans temporarily crossing the aisle can tighten the race and prolong the time until the eventual nominee can start on a national campaign. Why are they doing it? Because independents and Democrats were allowed to help us choose our nominee and the one they helped choose is wholly unworthy of the White House. As the saying goes, what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
As for me, however, if it comes down to a choice between the two Democrats, I'd want Obama instead of Clinton.
But to answer you truthfully thats like asking me to pick between Karl Marx and Adolf Hitler. Answer. Neither. I can handle John McCain 70% of the time. Its the other 30% I have troubles with. If I would have had my say on a Republican Candidate it would have been Mitt Romney with Fred Thompson a close second. I even liked Duncan Hunter. I wasn't to thrilled about Mike Huckabee even though he's a Bass Player and I em to.
Keith, the point is that voting incincerely is a discrace to democracy. Arrows impossibility theorum demonstrates that it is mathematically improbable for any election to be fair. One of the reasons is insincere voting. I think we are really lucky to get to vote. A lot of countries do not allow it.
And Klatu- thats still not an answer. I really encourage you to vote. But you should vote for who you think will make the better president. Otherwise you are making a mockery of everthing democracy stands for.
