Election officials are seeing an increase in switchers, but voters' motives may not be divined until the Oregon exit polls are released. Meanwhile, Limbaugh opened his program Wednesday with a victory cry: "Operation Chaos is exceeding all objectives... this is just fabulous." Dubbing the Obama-Clinton face-off a "soap opera," Limbaugh says he will carry his campaign through to the final primaries in early June.

What about the idea that no interest in the primary hurts you in November? Is there any chance that a big contingent of Oregon’s Republican voters will sit out the whole election cycle?
Moore: The long months between the primary and the general election generally mean that the dynamics of the primary are forgotten by September. Then it becomes a contest of candidates, issues, and voter turnout – all completely divorced from the dynamics of the primary.
The party-switching movement picked up momentum last week — first when conservative talk radio host Victoria Taft encouraged it and then on Sunday when Oregonian columnist Dave Reinhard picked up on the “Democrat for a Day” campaign. Both commentators are encouraging Republicans to reregister as Democrats before the April 29 deadline so they can vote for the other party’s presidential candidate whom they believe gives Republican nominee-in-waiting John McCain the best chance of victory in November.
It turns out that many GOP voters were making the switch even before the “Democrat for a Day” — or “dummocrat” as Taft puts it — movement got going.

You are squirreling around to get votes for whatever candidate is most unpopular for the reason of fouling the democratic proccess. This is unethical. You know, Victoria, we are really luck to live in a democratic society and have a chance to vote. You must be a fan of China.
And Victoria, you never answered my question. If Mccain loses the election; who would you rather have as president? Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama?
You are spitting on everything our troops are fighting for. This is the most un-patriotic, un-American thing that I've heard in so long. You don't have to live in this country. It wasn't founded for people like you. The right is so worried about the left not being able to protect us from terroists.... Who's going to protect us against you. Want the real definition of terrorist... look in a mirror.
I don't recall ever seeing the Republicans so frightened of a candidate. Encouraging someone to vote for their old nemesis Hillary is about as desperate as it gets.
It won't work. The math does not lie. But it is fun to watch.

Obama Wants Republicans to Register Democrat
Somehow I don't believe Jesus would be trying to urge Republicans on in their hatred of Democrats. I don't see him fostering the sort of finger-pointing and snickering and self-righteous arrogance that you and yours exhibit on a daily basis. In fact, I think it's very likely that he would be urging you to treat your fellow Americans, who are every bit as patriotic as you are, with love and respect as human beings, taking the higher ground in your debates instead of acting like you just stepped out of "Lord of the Flies." If you have trouble understanding this, maybe you should spend some time in serious prayer about it.
The Cuyahoga County(Ohio) Board of Elections has launched an investigation that could lead to criminal charges against voters who maliciously switched parties for the March 4 presidential primary.
Elections workers will look for evidence that voters lied when they signed affidavits pledging allegiance to their new party.
I hope Victoria and her followers have a good lawyers.
