Troutdale Gets Pitched on a Tram

Mass Tram America says they would take old jet fuselages, hang them from monorail like track, fuel them with solar energy, and be able to move the massive numbers (14,000) of people around Troutdale. Please don't laugh, the folks at Mass Tram America are serious!

But our friend Craig says he thinks he's seen this kind
of people mover before.

I see incredible potential.
Perhaps a few failures will be necessary on the path to a good thing. Don't let one (or a few) examples of poor implementation prevent you from seeing the potential in an idea.

The greatest ideas are often laughed at.

Even without solar energy, where a change in elevation is involved, the tram concept has incredible energy saving potential.

For the Portland tram, I think that the rides down should be free and the rides up should cost more. This way those doing it for entertainment can choose to go down instead of up. Riding down is, in a way, actually adding value to the process, instead of just taking value from it.

Victoria: That is a Picture from
Back To The Future 4 isn't it?

The Picture is Photo-shopped?

Randy Leonard has way to much time on his hands.

I don't think the picture is photo shopped. I think this may be something they actually tried in government camp as a bit of a lark and a bit of a joke. Could be wrong. Photo sent in by Craig, a fifth listener.

This sort of idea sounds like the kind of joke which would appear on Southpark, when they are lampooning idiots from real life.

We do have trams where I live, in Melbourne, Australia, but they run on normal tracks, and carry normal numbers of people.

Background:
Law makers and special interest groups seem to be very interested in the number of accidental deaths each year in the United States and some of which are designated as murders! In an effort to control and or lessen the number of these senseless deaths, some laws are proposed in order to curb these deaths. (see how gun control has effected crime when enacted in other countries)

Some groups such as the Democratic party have come out in support of gun control, in an effort that they deem the best way to control senseless deaths. Perhaps these groups have overlooked the real culprit and maybe they should consider banning cars! Even Hitler had guns banned from citizen ownership, but he never thought to ban cars, a "better killer"! And cars are used in a high percentage of bank robberies, drag races, and somewhat by wives to eleminate unfaithful husbands!

http://www.courttv.com/trials/dragrace/background_ctv.html

Washington D.C. enacted a virtual ban on handguns in 1976. Between 1976 and 1991, Washington D.C.'s homicide rate rose 200%, while the U.S. rate rose 12%.

http://www.unitedjustice.com/death-statistics.html
(this link will show some of the statistics of causes of death) and http://www.who2.com/deathbycarcrash.html
will "show and tell" of famous car crashes!

This Petition States:
I sign this non-binding petition calling for a ban on cars before any additional 'bans' are put into place. This ban on cars is being proposed to show the ridiculous nature of gun bans, as cars kill more Americans each year than guns do
This is actually pretty stupid Democrats want to be communistic like Nambla and take away cars and Gun rights
this is a whole big battle between cars and Gun rights
Lets not live in a spirit of fear but of sound mind and in spirit and restore America back to Godly moral values which this Nation Needs
Terror At Virginia Tech

Evil went on a rampage at Virginia Tech today. The latest reports indicate that as many as 32 students have been killed and 28 others wounded by a gunman armed with two 9mm handguns, who reportedly killed himself. As is usual when this type of violence takes place, facts are hard to pin down and confusion reigns. How could one gunman do this much damage? What were his motives, personal or ideological? If it is true that the killing spree extended across the campus over a three-hour period, why was law enforcement and campus security unable to stop it sooner?

For now we must pray for the families whose lives have been shattered today with the news of the loss of their sons or daughters. And pray, too, that this country will once again, in an age when death stalks us and evil is “quickening,” turn to the God who demands of us that we choose life.

Another Call For Withdrawal

Before leaving for their spring break, liberals on Capitol Hill sent President Bush an emergency war funding bill for our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq that included an unconscionable demand that the United States surrender in Iraq. President Bush has vowed to veto the bill, setting up a potential clash between Congress and the Commander-in-Chief. But today, Speaker Pelosi and other liberals eager to see the U.S. leave Iraq without victory found new support. Six Iraqi cabinet ministers have reportedly resigned their positions in the government in an effort to pressure Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to accept a timetable for U.S. soldiers to leave Iraq.

Are these six Iraqi ministers representative of the Iraqi population? No. All six are loyalists of radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, who wants the United States out of Iraq. Al-Sadr takes his orders from Tehran, which also wants the United States out of Iraq. Do Nancy Pelosi and Senator Reid feel at all uncomfortable that America’s worst enemies have now embraced their agenda? While I am not questioning anyone’s patriotism, I do believe that prudence demands we question the judgment of anyone who suggests we ought to do what our enemies demand.

Lawrence Strikes Again

America continues to suffer in the wake of the Supreme Court’s ill-considered 2003 opinion in Lawrence v. Texas. The day after that decision was issued, I wrote, “Once the highest court of the land says that ‘privacy’ outweighs the compelling interest a society has in promoting family, and reliable standards of right and wrong, there is no place to draw a line.”

Since then, radicals have used Lawrence to challenge laws against same-sex “marriage,” polygamy, homosexual adoptions, and now even incest. According to an April 5th Time Magazine article, attorneys for an Ohio man convicted in 2004 for having sexual relations with his 22 year-old stepdaughter will argue that their client’s relationship should be protected under the Lawrence decision, which in very sweeping language found that homosexuals have a right to engage in private, consensual activity. Unfortunately, this is not the first case to challenge state incest laws, and it won’t be the last so long as robed radicals masquerading as impartial judges insist that “we the people” have no authority to “legislate morality.”

Virtually all important laws reflect someone’s moral worldview. In the on-going battle between the Judeo – Christian world view and radical secularism, America’s choice couldn’t be clearer.

were living in Daniel 4 times lets restore America the Tram is crazy and the petitions against cars does not need to be signed neither is the tram ,Lets bring a Nation back to Godly Moral values
In 2004, 1,028,546 Oregonians said "NO" to so called 'Same Sex Marriage.' Today, in a special session, 60 legislators in Salem will decide whether to override the will of the people, in favor of granting another form of 'marriage' called 'civil unions.' To add to insult to the absurdity, the same Rules Committee that wants to change our morals with SB 2, decided to change 'civil unions' to 'domestic partners'. Is there nothing sacred any longer? Will we simply be subject to the foolishness of fools with each election and legislative manipulation? How far will they take us into moral, marital, and gender confusion - not to speak of social and educational disarray - just to satisfy a very small minority that has duped them again, against the will of the people?

The full House of Representatives VOTE on both these bills TODAY. Pray their hearts will hear the cries of the people and the still small voice of the Spirit of God ... and say "NO" to both bills. I will publish the names and phone numbers of every representative that votes 'Yes' on either or both bills. And I commit to you that I will do all in my power to ensure every voter in their district knows how they voted on both these bills.

If this legislature passes SB 2 and HB 2997 today, future Oregonians who survey the social and moral and economic degradation caused by this decision will know the names of each individual who voted to ensure it happened. Oregon's own 'day of infamy.'

Representatives Respond to Your Calls
Your calls, emails and persistence have made a major difference! While a few legislators have indicated they were resentful of the many calls, your voices have encouraged many legislators to stand firm for the people. They should not be surprised when the will of the people is being ignored, to receive emails and calls requesting them to not ignore us.

Pray as above.

Gender Identity & Senate Bill 2
Unfortunately, most Oregonians, including our Legislators, do not know anything about 'gender identity.' That fact alone, if corrected, would stop this bill from becoming law. Pray that our legislators will read the 10 questions I gave them in their offices this morning before the session and rally.

If SB 2 passes, it will be legal for a man to walk into a women's shower, locker or rest room, as long as he keeps his underwear on, and anyone who complained (spell discriminate), could be sued under SB 2!

"For lack of knowledge, the people perish."

Yesterday's Rally at the Capitol
Thanks to the leadership and organization skills of John Smythe, and his homeschooled family, and the Slavic Churches of Salem, the Rally at the Capitol saw hundreds of people come and go to hear several speakers including legislators opposed to both bills.

Signs, held by young and old, on both sides of the street clearly spelled out our opposition to all who passed by either on foot or by auto. Computers and printers under outdoor tents were busy as students and adults wrote and printed letters to their representatives and delivered them in the capitol

Although several pastors attended from as far away as Bend and Medford, there were few from Salem or elsewhere in the Willamette Valley. Where oh where is the American Church? If 2000 people had been on the Capitol Steps and Mall, the Vote today would not be in question.

Where Do We Go From Here
Wait until after the VOTE today. A 'Referral' to the people may be necessary. Until then, as the people of God, who know how to Pray, Fast, and place our Trust in Him, hold up our elected officials before the throne of God. Ask that they be moved by the Holy Spirit to remember that they are but mortals, created in the Image of God, to do His Will and not that of fallen man. Petition our LORD to speak to them, about this decision and to trust what they know in the depths of their heart to be right.

Thank you one and all. It was a humbling and encouraging day for me to see His people gathered in His Name before the seat of government. To all who have been such faithful warriors in this effort, stay strong in Him. He is the LORD, and no man will mock Him except to their peril. He is not finished using you for His Glory. God Bless You, and may we see marriage and our morals preserved today in the Oregon House of Representatives.

Victoria,

Love your show. You are the voice of common sense.

Please warn those interested in Mass Tram America that this is a scam. Mr. Missler has had many people invest in this company and has produced nothing in return. He does not have a patent, share certificates, drawings, models, prototype build, business plan and really has not accomplished all that is listed in his "Phase 1" part of his project. He uses the money for his own use and to pay for "company expenses" to validate the facade of having a company. (i.e. Office rent, websites, phone listings, etc.) Mr. Missler uses the concern most people have about future resources as a ploy to gain investors. He has also not paid his employees for services done for this company. He has also let the "Mass Tram America, Inc." business registration expire and was dissolved in Dec. 2006.

I believe in developing alternative methods for energy and transportation, but not with this company.

Thanks for being there to tell others the truth.
