The Military Answered the Call and Oregon's Left Turned Tail and RAN AWAY?

When the call went out for the US military in Oregon and southwest Washington to show up this (Thursday) morning at 10:30 in Salem to watch the Oregon house call for DEFEAT IN IRAQ, the democrat leadership went into panic mode and have now:

CANCELLED THE VOTE

It's been rescheduled for Tuesday. Unless they lose their nerve.
Apparently it's a bit uncomfortable to vote for defeat when you're surrounded by uniformed military heroes. I don't think the prospect of that photo op--even in Oregon's lazy media--was something relished by the left. But I thought they supported the troops??? Oh, wait...

Gutless wonders. They are incapable of doing anything about the real problems the state is having, so they are left with meaningless resolutions. When they get heat, they can't even do that.

We deserve everything we get from these clowns. Maybe, just maybe, the tards that send those clowns back to Salem over and over just might be willing to try someone else next time.

True-the SOCIALIST TAX EVERYONE 100% left, are not for the troops, never were, never will be.My advice though put a camara and Guard there, to keep an eye on these proceedings, there libel to hold them in the middle of the night.Of Course LIBERAL KGW CH.8 and LIBERAL NWCN will have advanced notice from there fellow COMRADES.

I'm not looking for a snarky answer, I'm looking for an honest one. We've been Iraq for years now - how much longer do you feel we need to be there? And I don't mean "until the job is done". How much time in measurable increments do you THINK will be needed?

You can take a guess and end up incorrect, that's not my point in asking. You could say "two years", and something crazy happens, and it turns out longer. I'm not trying to get anyone in a position where I can jump down their throat and say "if we're still there in two years, I'm going to rub it in your face because you don't know what you're talking about!" I swear, that's not my intent.

Realistically, what do you think is a reasonable amount of time to maintain the present course of action before we as a nation can say, OK, our job here is successful and complete, time to go home?

A year? Ten years? Forever?

And why?

Honest question, not trying to instigate.

they changed the vote To Tuesday victoria
hey have moved the vote to Tuesday the 20th of March. This type of legislation needs to be killed before it destroyes the troops morale. they deserve better than this.
Please tell your friends and relatives about this act of treason by the Oregon House of Representatives. Be there at 9:00 am

From: Oregon War Veterans Association

Subject: Urgent Help Needed!

Important meetings scheduled for TOMORROW, Thursday, March 15, 2007. 10:00 AM
The Oregon State House of representatives is voting tomorrow on HJM9, which urges the President to begin withdrawing US forces from Iraq as soon as possible, but not later than December 2007. It also urges Congress to pass legislation prohibiting the President from increasing the number of troops in Iraq.
The Oregon War Veterans Association is taking a stand against this and similar memorial legislation because it will have absolutely no affect on the Presidents decisions to pull troops from Iraq or Afghanistan, but it will have a negative impact on troops who are either fighting there now or who will be deployed there soon.
350 Oregon National Guard troops are being sent to Iraq in the very near future and need to know that we support them without hesitation. And, we have 990 ORNG troops currently fighting in Afghanistan.
This legislative action needs to be stopped. Irregardless of what position we each take on the war efforts in Iraq is irrelevant when it comes to supporting our troops on the ground. OWVA will not stand by and watch irresponsible members of the Oregon State Legislature unravel the morale of our troops who are being shot at as we discuss the policy of the war.
Discussions are one thing; legislation which sends a message of shame, or lacking support is clearly another.
Please come to the Oregon State Capitol tomorrow (Thursday, March 15, 2007) if you can. We will assemble in the third floor gallery, overlooking the House Assembly at 10:00 AM.
We need as many veterans and supporters to show up as is possible for this legislative vote. Wear your medals, hats, pins, jackets, etc.

Don't think someone else will show up for us. We need you!
Remember, we are not taking a position on the actual war effort here.
We are telling the legislature that their actions will have one effect only: the demoralization of our troops on the ground. We cant allow that.

LUNCH

If you are able to join us for the House session and can also stay for the Veterans Affairs Committee Hearing at 1PM we will buy your lunch! Meet in the basement cafeteria after the house session vote on HJM 9.

Oregon War Veterans Association has a bill in committee tomorrow that will provide funeral assistance to families of impoverished veterans who die and want to be buried at Willamette National Cemetery. This bill will affect approximately 150 families each year. Most of these impoverished or indigent vets served in Vietnam. The least we can do is bury them with the honor they deserve. Please plan to attend this hearing at 1PM in Hearing room H357 (west wing of the capitol, third floor).

No need to RSVP, just show up if you can.
