Guerilla marketing: No problem, ala Hunter Thompson. But,just add anti-American lefties and, suddenly, open season is declared upon homeland security. The jihadists have learned a great deal from this lesson, as they did from the phony imams in the airport. Message to the lefties.....we shall all share the same horrors when the islamo-fascists begin their campaign here. You are helping them win the propaganda war. You are unprepared to thwart them in the killing that will follow. Believe them when they declare their intention to ensure our doom. Listen carefully to the sounds of muslims denouncing jihad......(crickets)
Al Franken's possible senate run: Caligula placed his horse in the Roman Senate. Same rationale, same result.
Bike lanes: Decades of democrat mismanagement have failed to alter the fact that when a national recession hits, it hits Oregon first, and leaves Oregon last. My taxes have gone up, thew performance in Salem continues to languish. So sad, so leftie.
Iraq: There is no line in the sand which lefties won't abandon. No principle on which they can't flip-flop, no core belief they won't deny. No act of cowardice they can't embrace. No hero they won't abandon.
Al Franken is going to run for the US Senate in Minnesota. God help the State of Minnesota if they vote that knothead in. That would be tantamount to Massachusetts continuing to vote Teddy Kennedrunk and John "I love the Iranian thugs" Kerry back into their Senate seats. Minnesota had better watch what they are doing when it comes to Franken. Even if he wins, he will still be a loser.
Bear, do you have any actual facts to back up all your claims that lefties hate America? Do you have any facts demonstrating your taxes went up when Dems ran the state, last time I saw my taxes go up we had a Republican controlled state legislature and a Dem governor. Do you have any real data about recession and it starting in Oregon and ending in Oregon last? I could make up all kinds of claims about how poorly Dems run the government, they are pretty empty without facts. I have given a bunch of money to the Republican party and feel like its pretty much wasted with so many people getting rich off my money and I have not gained any wealth or benefit to my beliefs or business.
Hey, treechopper, I believe the term rino was coined in this state, and with good reason. Packfield and Hatwood cemented the Oregon Republican tradition of catering to liberals when I was in high school, and we have watched as rino after rino (the penultimate, and most recent, being Westlund) have sold-out conservative principles. Some of whom have even accepted 6-figure appointments from kulonclownski. If your economic knowledge is so thin that you are unable to connect the dots between the health of the lumber and construction industries here (these are the canaries in the mine) and the national economy, then you won't recognize the fact that Oregon's unemployment rate always jumps ahead of the national rate, then (to you, somehow inexplicably) that rate stays much higher than the national rate for years after recessions have ended, as it does, today. The only "growth" Oregon can claim is in the cost of government, and the number of illegal aliens. The term "tax hell" was coined here, too, I believe. The fact of Clark County, Washington's dramatic growth over the years is directly related to tax policies. BTW, when the jihadist leaders (you know, those great America-lovers) express joy and support for liberal victories, trying to make a case that liberals and lefties don't hate this country and its founding principles is laughable. Just ask your pals Cindy Sheehan, Michael Moore, John Dean, Dick Durban, John Murtha, Ward Churchill, Hanoi Jane, ad nauseum, and don't bore me with your sophistry, or fraudulent disbelief......sheesh.

The beauty of this country is that I am able to say whatever I want to state my opinion safely. I seem to have stirred someone in this blog. It is still a mystery to me how people believe I am a liberal. I do challenge the status quo on conservative idealogue. I have given up on the current machine and am looking for new ways to have our beliefs brought to the public. Telling me to look at some nut case left wing website is the way we used to do things. Now we will outsmart people to get our points across, not just tell people that challenge us to leave. Bear, well stated about the history of Oregon. I am in the logging industry and I have suffered a great deal in my business, the reality is that the logging industry in Oregon suffers from low prices as a result of Global Economics. Nafta, Cafta and the WTO are all guilty of Oregons logging industry damage. A bunch of billionaires got ahold of our politicians the bought them to get all this trade practice in place. I have worked with the Republican party and given alot of money, but in the end, I was out bidded by corporations that are not even in the state, and sometimes not even in the country.

so, where were we the last time I blogged? oh, right here at the same place we were weeks ago when I joined this blog. Being insulted with juvenile statements of changing the world to remove socialists and liberals. We cannot operate this way people, we have to be more creative, make the message easier to the lefties to absorb, not beat them over the head or make them think we are just out to destroy them. Thats the old way of doing things. We are learning from our mistakes hopefully. I think Iknowhowtospell gets it, probably conservative like me, but with a better delivery and most likely more intelligent than Klatu. By Design.

I'm sure some are sick of me saying it more than twice, but since you're new, Tree, a little about me:
I'm a 32-year-old former resident of Massachusetts. I'm a registered independent, but I definitely lean to the liberal side, despite thinking that Ted Kennedy's expiration date passed quite a while ago.
I don't think that Democrats are right all the time, but I tend to agree with their platforms more often than I do with the Republicans.
I consider myself a pragmatist more than an idealist, and I am open to hearing viewpoints that differ from my own, and when I respond to an argument, I usually try to do so in an informed way rather than going straight for personal attacks - but if someone else wants to go to the gutter, I'll follow when necessary. I won't be the first one to go there, though.
Klatu's either a fake persona or an actual spaceman, Lew straddles my line of unlikability sometimes (but more often than not is a worthy adversary, and he seems like he'd be a nice enough guy in real life), and Bear seems to have been brainwashed by Sean Hannity.
Other than that, welcome :)

I did take the "Klatu" name from The Canadian Beatle band. "Klatu" was suppose to actually be the Beatles touring in Desquise in the 1970's. Another Paul is dead trick.I do like the Movie the Day the Earth Stood Still though, that Klatu is spelled different.

It seems a rational reaction to the assertion that marriage is only valid for procreation, something the state of WA decided was the case.
(Cue lew's entry to the discussion, with all presumptions that all homosexual men are potential pedophiles simply because he was abused by one as a young boy, and thus all homosexuals should not be allowed to marry...or some of klatu's inane ramblings, either one should be a hoot!)
