See, the Democrats think you were smart enough to vote for them but brain damaged when you voted in favor of Measure 37. Measure 37 is a measure overwhelmingly passed by Oregon voters to give back land owners the rights they possessed when they purchased their property, but whose *CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS* were violated when the state, county, city governments put new rules on their property to prevent its use.
In the following video you see that the D's running the land use committee--who have been charged with gutting M 37--will not allow any "minority reports." Those would be proffered by the R's which are now the minority. The R's have done this on occasion when they were in charge but not on policy committees such as this--especially when going against the will of the people.
Big 'ups' to NW Republican and Orbusmax for the link.

Sister-in-Law, I beleive...
Need RW say more?
I wish Republicans would GUTT liberal legislation, especially
_ _ _ _ _ from the New Deal days in the 1930'S. Republicans are to damm nice, and nice guys finish last. Time to stop being a nice guy. Time for Republicans to take the gloves off and come down on
these anti-Property rights communists, and put a boot up
their _ _ _ _ and send um to the
Soviet Union where they belong. Of
course Liberal Republicans will
disagree with me. But I'm doing my part to show them the door.
Senator Chuck Hagel buh-bye buh-bye,
and I was saying the same thing
about John McCain in 2000.He may be wising up. Do
I need to say this about Sen. Gordon Smith? What was that State Senator from Bends Name? who finally became a Demoncrat?
Measure 37 has enemies on the Left hand side
of the Republican Party also. It is possible
to stop this gutting of measure 37 though.
I do not agree with the government dictating my land purchase or how I use or build on the land after. I recently bought a vast area of very fertile land in Clackamas county only to be told I could not grow trees there for commerce. So I went to another county in southern Oregon, same thing. After those chunks of land went up for sale, I called some attorneys. Spent more money, did some math and figured out if I were to buy Government BLM land and log it, I could grow trees for commerce. Somehow the Government holds the key for my business. All this occured ten years ago and I am still wading through the governments bureaucracy to sustain my business. I could build all the crappy houses I want, but not grow trees other than Christmas trees, not quite as profitable as hardwoods. It really doesnt matter who is President or where Libs or Conservatives are running the show, only certain people make real money in this world, any politician can make it happen if you pay them enough.
The bottom line treechopper is if you want to do something on your land they don't let you (in your case) because they have other plans for 'your' land.
It is only logical that they would hold closed meetings on Measure 37. After all, this bunch will not be receptive to hearing from property owners who want to use their land.
In their manic effort to stop M 37 is the wild talk about how much money this will cost cities, counties and the state.
Precisely.
Left out of the discussion is how much money this has cost individual taxpayers in opportunity cost, legal fees, spending time to fight city hall. They should get that money back. With interest.
Treechopper,
it just sounds like you didn't do your due dilligence to find out what was and wasn't allowed on the property. who's fault is that? those rules were in place when you bought it, unlike those who are measure 37 claimants
