A man serving life in prison at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility for molesting and killing a little girl is the target of an investigation. It seems somehow he ended up with this tattoo on his forehead invoking the name of his victim followed by the word “revenge.” Here’s the rest of the story.

Tom Joscelyn on Hillary's Claim that Bill Would Have Done Something If He'd Had a Warning!
THOMAS JOSCELYN ON THE VICTORIA TAFT SHOW HEARD 5-8PM PACIFIC.
STREAM HERE.
"I'm certain that if my husband and his national security team had been shown a classified report entitled 'Bin Laden Determined To Attack Inside the United States' he would have taken it more seriously than history suggests it was taken by our current president and his national security team."
She might be right. Maybe if he'd gotten ONE warning he WOULD have done something. But as Tom Joscelyn points out Bill Clinton had MORE THAN SIX warnings. See Joscelyn's piece here.
On page 124, for example, the Joint Inquiry lists six instances--all prior to 2001--in which the intelligence indicated al Qaeda was planning attacks on U.S. soil:
In June 1998, the Intelligence Community obtained information from several sources that Osama Bin Laden was considering attacks in the United States, including against Washington, D. C. and New York;In August 1998, the Intelligence Community obtained information that a group of unidentified Arabs planned to crash an explosive-laden plane from a foreign country into the World Trade Center;
In September 1998, the Intelligence Community obtained information that Osama Bin Laden's next operation could possibly involve flying an aircraft loaded with explosives into a U.S. airport;
In October 1998, the Intelligence Community obtained information that al-Qaeda was trying to establish an operative cell within the United States, and that there might be an effort underway to recruit U.S. citizen- Islamists and U.S.-based expatriates from the Middle East and North Africa;
In September 1999, the Intelligence Community obtained information that Osama Bin Laden and others were planning a terrorist act in the United States, possibly against specific landmarks in California and New York City; and
In late 1999, the Intelligence Community obtained information regarding the Bin Laden network's possible plans to attack targets in Washington, D. C. and New York City during the New Year's Millennium celebrations.

NIE IS RELEASED. NYT, LAT, WaPo This SHOULD be the End of Axe Grinding Nameless Sources. You've been had again!
SHAME ON THE NEW YORK TIMES AND THEIR HANDMAIDENS AT THE WASHINGTON POST AND THE LA TIMES.
Read the NIE for yourself here .
I've read it and if I were you I'd cancel my NYT subscription. This is wilful cognitive dissonance. There's nothing that says we did the wrong thing in Iraq and EVERYTHING to say that the idea behind going into Iraq is absolutely right on and that there's no way we can lose this because so much hinges on it.
SHAME ON THE NEW YORK TIMES AND THEIR HANDMAIDENS AT THE WASHINGTON POST AND THE LA TIMES.
Here's analysis here and here and here.
Andy McCarthy highlights the fatwa issued in 1998 by UBL. Gads, no mention of GW. Well...give them time, they'll manufacture one. But look they mention Clinton. Imagine it, Clinton did relatively little and he was mentioned in a Fatwa. Why do they hate him so much? Turns out: there's no reason.
McCarthy:
Jihadists hate us because they hate us, not because of Iraq. If President Clinton’s Iraq policy was a problem, it was only because he didn’t follow through on it. By threatening to act forcefully but then letting Saddam Hussein and his terror-mongering fester, Clinton played right into al Qaeda’s conviction that America did not have the stomach for a fight and could be attacked with impunity — a conviction that was reinforced when terror attacks were in fact met with paltry, or no, response.
And remember this post of mine. This is why we can't cut and run.
Here's the essential 'graph:
From the Blog last spring:
In the opinion section of the Wall Street Journal today is an interesting piece about what Iran's version of Dr. Kissinger, Hassan Abbasi, thinks about American will. Find it here. Here's the essential 'graph:To hear Mr. Abbasi tell it the entire recent history of the U.S. could be narrated with the help of the image of "the last helicopter." It was that image in Saigon that concluded the Vietnam War under Gerald Ford. Jimmy Carter had five helicopters fleeing from the Iranian desert, leaving behind the charred corpses of eight American soldiers. Under Ronald Reagan the helicopters carried the corpses of 241 Marines murdered in their sleep in a Hezbollah suicide attack. Under the first President Bush, the helicopter flew from Safwan, in southern Iraq, with Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf aboard, leaving behind Saddam Hussein's generals, who could not believe why they had been allowed live to fight their domestic foes, and America, another day. Bill Clinton's helicopter was a Black Hawk, downed in Mogadishu and delivering 16 American soldiers into the hands of a murderous crowd.
Here's something you might find interesting; they all (Iran, Al Qaeda) think GW is an aberration and believe the old cut and run strategy will resume once G-4-3 is gone. The author continues in the piece about his research finding among other things that the American leader-elite don't support a cut and run strategy. He believes 9/11 changed everything and everyone. Do YOU?
Glad They're on Our Side! Unbelieveable!
Someone emailed this to me. Here's the context:
This photo was taken by a soldier in Afghanistan of a helo rescue mission. The pilot is a PA Guard guy who flies EMS choppers in civilian life. Now how many people on the planet you reckon could set the butt end of a chopper down on the roof top of a shack on a steep mountain cliff and hold it there while soldiers load wounded men in the rear??? If this does not impress you ... nothing ever will. Gives me the chills and a serious case of the vertigo ... I can't even imagine having the nerve ... much less the talent and ability ... God Bless 'em !!!!!
Then I got this email and one of our commenters provided this explanation:
Although the text that accompanied copies of this image sent via e-mail in 2006 suggested the activity shown therein was part of an effort to evacuate wounded coalition soldiers, the photo actually captures the Chinook helicopter touching down to receive Afghan Persons Under Control (APUC) captured by members of the U.S. 10th Mountain Division.
So...let me get this straight, if the second explanation is the correct one and (I know enough about this internet stuff to figure that it may be) then it's even more extradordinary. Think about it, if they're willing to risk their lives for the bad guys...??? Imagine what acts of heroism they're willing to do for our friends!
UPDATE: PASSED! It's Not Too Late...Email or Call Your Congressional Rep About PERA!
UPDATE: PASSED!
The House of Representatives has scheduled HR 2679, the Public Expression of Religion Act, or PERA, for debate during Tuesday, September 26. This is the last week before they recess to go home to campaign for reelection. PERA will make it more difficult to sue government officials over public expressions of religion. It would prohibit plaintiffs in such lawsuits from recovering monetary damages, costs or attorney fees.

Al Haramain Worker Claims the Ashland "Charity" Helped Terror Causes
From the O today. Here's the link.
The charity also hosted a stream of visitors, some who stayed days, some for weeks, Gartenstein-Ross said. He said the FBI has told him that several of those visitors had suspected links to terrorism, including one American Muslim who planned a terrorist training camp in Arizona. Gartenstein-Ross said he suspects Seda was unaware of the true background of some of his guests. In April 1999, Gartenstein-Ross recalled, Seda addressed a prayer session at the Al Haramain headquarters, speaking in support of Islamic fighters in Kosovo. He said Seda told the group he knew of people overseas who were prepared to join the Kosovo mujahedeen, but they needed money for travel.
Gartenstein-Ross left the charity in August 1999 to attend a New York law school, and stayed in touch with Seda. The following year, he left Islam because of a "spiritual crisis" that convinced him that Islam, as he learned it, was too radical. He became a Christian.

Governor Saxton is Visited by Two Popular Governors in His Quest for Mahonia Hall. Shows He Came to Play.
Here's the latest poll we talked about on the show the other day. The first glimpse of the poll came from NW Republican but had Starrett at 4%. As you can see she's really at 3%, however as you can see here this bad boy is close:
Ron Saxton, Rep. 38%
Ted Kulongoski, Dem.38%
Mary Starrett, Const. 3%
Richard Morley, Lib. 1%
Joe Keating, Pacific Gr.1%
None 3%
Don’t know 16%
We've got 16% undecideds right now. With the big boys sending in Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and affable Arkansas Guv Mike Huckabee, Saxton is showing he's come to play---and win. Now if he can parlay these visits in cash money and free media to win over some of those folks... to give him electability cred with these undecideds that would be lovely.
Saxton has come to play. Now everyone will know it. It seems that with Romney being a possible contender for President at some point in the future the national boys are sitting up and taking notice that the vulnerable Kulongoski is even weaker than they imagined. The future former Governor has the entire public employee and private big labor unions arrayed in his behalf and he's tied with Saxton.
For more analysis head to Oregon Catalyst here.
The following is part of the Saxton press release on the visits:
Governor Romney will be in Oregon this Saturday, September 23, for a fundraiser at the Benson Hotel (309 SW Broadway, Portland). The fundraiser is closed to the media, but Romney and Saxton will hold a press availability following the event at 10:45 AM in the Brighton Room.
Governor Huckabee will be in Oregon next Wednesday, September 27, for a Blues and BBQ fundraising event for Saxton at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse (4045 NW Cornelius Pass Road, Hillsboro). Huckabee will even take the stage and play guitar with the Miller Brothers Blues Band to entertain the crowd.
PS That new Kulongoski ad sounds cloying and sappy. Plus...the Republican leaders who gave in allowing him Jessica's law as a campaign issue after he and his party's leadership KILLED IT in the legislature is enough to make you crazy.

Thoughts on Terrorism and the Enemy We Face and Why the American Left Doesn't Care
**Because people commenting on this item are unable to articulate their views without the use of expletives, I have stopped the comments for a short while.
Two pieces today best describe the root of the confusion I've felt about reaction to this world war we find ourselves in. Where is the American left? Why do they allign themselves with the people who have declared the war and fired the first shot when those people certainly do not have their best interest at heart--who in fact allign themselves with people who want to kill them. The Palestinian cause, CAIR, which has been run by people who gave money to Hamas, condemning us when we declare the nature of our enemy as being Islamofascism; a bastardization of the Muslim faith. Maybe you can help explain why there's not more universal outrage and condemnation of the enemies who pursue us.
The first is a piece in the Wall Street Journal in which the writer wonders aloud, why don't liberals see that the Islamofascists would come for them first? Why aren't they the ones signing up to serve in greater numbers. In Bret Stephens' piece he begins with a 'graph written by a young liberal woman who was there on 9/11 and who now sports an American flag on her backpack and who cheers the American fighter jets as they pierce the sky overhead. She writes in the Newsweek My Turn piece that she is a '...musician, an artist and, on a somewhat political level, a woman, a lesbian and a Jew." Now she includes in her personal litany: an American.
Here are two 'graphs I find the most compelling:
"maybe [the young woman] intuited that [Mohammed] Atta’s real targets weren’t the symbols of American mightiness, but of what that mightiness protected: people like her, bohemian, sexually unorthodox, a minority within a minority. Maybe she understood that those F-16’s overhead—likely manned by poilots who went to church on Sunday and voted the straight GOP ticket—were being flown above all for her defense…"
“…after 9/11 at least a few old time voices on the left—Christopher Hitchens, Bruce Bawer, Paul Berman and Ron Rosebaum, among others—understood that what Islamism most threatened wasn’t just America generally, but precisely the values that modern liberalism had done so much to promote and protect for the past 40 years: civil rights, gay rights, feminism, privacy rights, reporductive choic, sexual freedom, the right to worship as one chooses… And so they bid an unsentimental goodbye to their one time comrades and institutions: the peace movement, the pages of the Nation and New York Review of Books…”Bush Administration official Karen Hughes also asks a similar question in her piece in USA Today:
This is not right, or normal, or acceptable, and a much louder chorus of voices needs to join in condemning it. Terrorism threatens all of us. It targets the very foundations of a free society. Yet where are the mothers organizing against terrorism as American mothers did against drunken driving? Where are the fathers promising to teach their sons to choose to live rather than choose to die? Where are the religious clerics and congregations of all faiths arguing that no just and loving God would call on young men and women to kill themselves and others in the name of religion?
To be fair, many voices, Western and Eastern, Islamic and Christian, have spoken out against the violence. Yet the criticism seems oddly muted. Offensive cartoons sparked massive protests in nations across the Islamic world. The international outcry was immediate when civilians were killed in the recent conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

God Bless America! Fly Your Flag on 9/ll!
Michelle Malkin asks the question today: WHO are you remembering today?
CNN is streaming its coverage in real time from that day here.
Choose "pipeline 4."
Path to 9/11 Reportedly Has Only 1 Minute Cut Out. ABC Hangs In.
I stand corrected: ONLY ONE MINUTE OF THE MOVIE WAS CUT (according to friend of director).
*But after ABC takes great pains to point out this is a 'docu drama,' spends the extra 22 minutes it has to puts on a NEWS update on the war in Iraq/Afghanistan. They point out the ten times Clinton had a chance to take out Bin Laden and the one time at Tora Bora Bush has and put them on equal footing (HEAR TAPE HERE). Very interesting. Still, I'll give ABC this they did accurately depict the Clintonistas and their response to the Bin Laden threats: They were NO SHOWS.
But look, forget the Senate report. Just watch these (factual) connections and come to your own conclusions.
I'm grateful the movie refers to the murder in 1990 of Rabbi Meir Kahane because it's so clear that the Islamo fascists had started their ops in the US at least that early.
Ramzi Yousef's (the mastermind of the first WTC bombing 1993) is Khalid Sheik Mohammed's (Al Qaeda and mastermind of the second WTC bombing 2001) nephew. Don't forget: the bomb maker for the first WTC bombing was an IRAQI, Abdul Rahmin Yasin. And remember the FBI mistakenly let this guy go THREE TIMES. He escaped back to Iraq and hasn't been caught since.
Then we get to the bombing in 1994 of the Philippines Airlines flight by Ramzi Yousef and we see this as a precurser to Operation Bojinka in 1995 and the attempted bombing of an American Airlines flight in Dec 2001 by Richard Reid (the shoebomber).

Clinton Demands ABC Pull Path to 9/11 Film. Thinks it makes him look bad.
If you had been president over the period in which there were consistent attacks by bin Laden (including a declaration of war against us) why WOULDN'T you want this damning movie yanked?
Here's the letter he had Bruce Lindsay write for him. Tell ABC here NOT TO CAVE!
So they want to yank a film that, based on results, is true. Now, let's talk about that President Bush assassination film, shall we?
No Connection? On 9/11? So far, they're right, but ALL CONNECTIONS? Is that what this Senate report says? They're kidding, right?
The media report the Senate says there was no connection between UBL/Al Qaeda and Saddam for 9/ll. They're right. There's still not enough evidence to suggest they colluded for 9/ll.
But we knew this. Why did the Senate Democratic "leadership" and their hand maidens in the media choose to trumpet this "story"? After hearing about the clear connections a 9/ll commissioner was shocked here. And why didn't the Senate/Media include other connections besides training camps? Read Tom Joscelyn's reaction/response here and find out what was left on the cutting room floor. Read his latest piece in the Weekly Standard. And what about these connections? Why did the Clinton administration allege an allegiance between the two when it indicted UBL in 1997-8 (which did a whole lot of good, didn't it?) And what about these connections? And these? (here's a nay sayers site here. Note the cogent 'arguments.') Here's the one about the mother of all connections.
We DO know however there were plenty of connections between Al Qaeda and Iraq for years before our invasion.
From the LA Times:
The 356-page report is certain to fuel the election-season debate over the administration's foreign policy at a time when Bush is seeking to shore up support for the war in Iraq through a series of speeches that cast the conflict as central to winning the larger war on terrorism.
Bush on Thursday again asserted that the battle in Iraq was inextricably linked to Al Qaeda, and disparaged those who considered it a "diversion" from the war on terrorism.
White House spokesman Tony Snow on Friday downplayed the significance of the report, describing it as "nothing new."
"It's … kind of relitigating things that happened three years ago," Snow said. "In 2002 and 2003, members of both parties got a good look at the intelligence we had, and they came to the very same conclusions about what was going on."
The report's publication was marked by intense political wrangling within the Republican-controlled Intelligence Committee, with two GOP members — Sens. Olympia J. Snowe of Maine and Chuck Hagel of Nebraska — breaking ranks to vote in favor of conclusions drafted by Democrats.

ABC IS CONSIDERING AXING THE 9/11 MINI SERIES
CONTACT THEM HERE.
Interesting, isn't it, that the Democrats knee jerk response is to call for censorship because airing the "docu-drama" may make someone uncomfortable? Sounds like their foreign policy too, doesn't it? Appease. Capitulate. Pretend. Because to do otherwise--such as fight for our country and what it stands for--might make someone feel...uncomfortable.
Here's what I got from the D's today:
Dear victoria,
This is it: crunch time for getting the slanderous ABC television docudrama "The Path to 9/11" yanked off the air. The network schedule has this slanderous attack on Democrats slated to start on Sunday night, September 10, at 8 o'clock -- and as long as it stays on the schedule, we have work to do. Take a minute right now and tell Disney president Robert Iger to keep this right-wing propaganda off our airwaves:
http://www.democrats.org/pathto911
Here's the good news: the suits at ABC and the Walt Disney Company have started panicking under pressure, thanks to your ferocious response to the outrageous decision to put this irresponsible miniseries on the air. But until Disney quits defending its plan to broadcast conservative propaganda -- fraudulently presented to Americans as "based on the 9/11 Commission Report" -- the company should plan to keep taking every bit of heat we dish out.

Democrats No Shows on the War on Islamofascists
"We're engaged in a global struggle against the followers of a murderous ideology that despises freedom and crushes all dissent, and has territorial ambitions and pursues totalitarian aims. … And against such an enemy there is only one effective response: We will never back down, we will never give in and we will never accept anything less than complete victory. … We will defeat the terrorists and their hateful ideology by spreading the hope of freedom across the world. … The security of our nation depends on the advance of liberty in other nations."

Social Engineers to Portland: Gridlock, Learn to Love it!
Ah, Portland. Home of “smart growth,” pretty little trains, tram scams, and now it holds the distinction of being the 12th most traffic congested city in the country.
Interesting, isn’t it, that Portland, while being the 12th worst traffic congested city (as adjudged by the Reason Institute—find study here)
Portland is the 30th largest city. Clearly our congestion is out of kilter for the population. Wow! Is this what those smart growth-urban-growth-boundary loving folks said would happen if they were put in charge? Well, as a matter of fact yes. Los Angeles style gridlock was always considered desireable because it would force you to get on their pretty little trains.
Yes, we know it’s not working, but the social engineers don’t want to hear it. They never have.

Big Labor Day Rally Sunday, Sept. 3rd, 2pm in the South Park Blocks Calling for More ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

Huh?
Have you noticed that these groups never use the word 'illegal'?
Apparently it's okay to come to our country and break our laws. Is that okay with you? Why then is it okay with them?
Please reconsider drinking Miller Beer products since the company is underwriting/sponsoring the Chicago illegal alien rally.
Hezbollah's Children's Army. Are they 'terrorists' yet or will they just be treated as Child Abusers?
According to Roz Al-Yusuf, "Hizbullah has recruited over 2,000 innocent children aged 10-15 to form armed militias. Before the recent war with Israel, these children appeared only in the annual Jerusalem Day celebrations, and were referred to as the 'December 14 Units,' but today they are called istishhadiyun
"Hizbullah has customarily recruited youths and children and trained them to fight from a very early age. These are children barely 10 years old, who wear camouflage uniforms, cover their faces with black [camouflage] paint, swear to wage jihad, and join the Mahdi Scouts [youth organization]...
"The children are selected by Hizbullah recruitment [officers] based on one criterion only: They must be willing to become martyrs."
PLAME OUT! PART TROIS. WaPo: We Knew it All Along. No "Frog Marching" Necessary.
We already knew there was no outing. We knew she hadn't been covert in years. We knew knew there was no Bush conspiracy. Now the Washington Post confirms it also by blithely reporting, 'hey no big deal, we knew the whole time.'
"It follows that one of the most sensational charges leveled against the Bush White House -- that it orchestrated the leak of Ms. Plame's identity to ruin her career and thus punish Mr. Wilson -- is untrue. The partisan clamor that followed the raising of that allegation by Mr. Wilson in the summer of 2003 led to the appointment of a special prosecutor, a costly and prolonged investigation, and the indictment of Vice President Cheney's chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, on charges of perjury. All of that might have been avoided had Mr. Armitage's identity been known three years ago."
Just so you know, the WaPo and NYT have both pointed out within the past two days that they knew the whole time that the likely Plame 'outer' was Armitage --a Bush hater. For years, however, these publications have presided over a manufactured scandal of their own making and assistance, stoked the fires, and now says they knew the whole time. This means they knew there was no Bush White House conspiracy, that VP Cheney never would have sent Bush hater Joe Wilson to Niger, that Joe Wilson lied (which the Senate readily pointed out back in '04), and did nothing to set the record straight. BEFORE THE ELECTION OR AFTER.
Quick, somebody call the journalism police to snap their pencils in two and force them to hand over their handy dandy Joe Wilson stenography kits. I'll testify against them. My God, the whole world has witnessed a set up and travesty. As these so called 'journalists' would call for if Rummy or someone had done the same thing; HEADS SHOULD ROLL.
Then WaPo ends with this outrageous nugget:
"Nevertheless, it now appears that the person most responsible for the end of Ms. Plame's CIA career is Mr. Wilson. Mr. Wilson chose to go public with an explosive charge, claiming -- falsely, as it turned out -- that he had debunked reports of Iraqi uranium-shopping in Niger and that his report had circulated to senior administration officials. He ought to have expected that both those officials and journalists such as Mr. Novak would ask why a retired ambassador would have been sent on such a mission and that the answer would point to his wife. He diverted responsibility from himself and his false charges by claiming that President Bush's closest aides had engaged in an illegal conspiracy. It's unfortunate that so many people took him seriously."
You mean like the Washington Post and the New York Times??????
