NW Republican calls my attention to this defaced sign (below) in Washington County on SOMEONE'S PRIVATE PROPERTY! 
This must be the one I saw the other day at Cedar Hills Boulevard and Barnes, a popular place for political signs and kitty corner from where WalMart wanted to build a store.
I want you to think back to previous election cycles. Can you remember ONE case of a republican defacing signs, shattering huge picture windows at headquarters, slashing tires, spray painting cars with candidate stickers on them? Of course not, but all of those things happened in Portland to republicans' signs, headquarters, and cars.
The Democrats are scared and out of control.
According to Oregon GOP officials this is the latest death toll of Saxton signs:
ALL THE SAXTON SIGNS IN BEND AND REDMOND WERE SPRAY PAINTED.
MANY IN WASHINGTON COUNTY WERE PAINTED OR SLASHED.
ALL OF LINCOLN COUNTY'S SAXTON SIGNS WERE STOLEN.
ALONG VISTA (IN PORTLAND) SAXTON SIGNS ARE CONSTANTLY BEING STOLEN.

Yea I to saw this defaced sign this past Saturday while visiting my Sister & Brother in Law in the Beaverton, Cedar Mill area. The 1st thing we all thought of was Desperation by TED'S supporters.It
Happens every Election cycle.
Back in 1996 A "DOLE-KEMP sign was defaced and changed to "ROLE-HEMP" in the Corvallis Area. Proves wear the Socialist mindset is at. Of course the Left will deface one of Ted's Sign's and blame it on Saxton Supporters, and then Liberal TV stations and Newspapers will show it to try and prove both sides do it. HARDLY. I'm predicting this last part becomes reality very soon.
Ps: Republicans--Halloween is close. Democrat Parents love to sick their Democrat Kids on our Republican signs while their Trick or Treating. Pull your Signs in that night, then again maybe every night.
Because campaign signs so rarely give any useful information, I have learned to ignore them. I do not condone vandalism, but I do take more notice of a vandalized sign, than I do a non vandalized sign, especially if humorous. (I really like the "ROLE-HEMP").
Those who vandalize the signs are employing a type of negative campaigning which brings attention to the opponent (or at least the candidate on the sign being vandalized).
This is likely to have the effect of helping that candidate more than hurting them.
During campaigns, especially heated campaigns, this is not unusual. Sadly, people of both sides act this way.
Then again, with all the childish tit for tat get back childish attitudes we see in D.C. from both parties, what else can we expect?
When Bush signs were stoeln from my yard during the 04 campaign, I replaced them. Then, someone decided to place a Kerry sign in my yard, since I live next to a fairly busy street. I used black tape, wrote "Traitor" under his name, placed it back in the yard and whoever put it there in the first place left it alone.
Otherwise, I left Kerry signs alone, elsewhere.
I guess it's just campaign rhetoric from supporters, not from candidates. At least, I hope it isn't condoned by any candidates.

Where are the defaced kulongoski signs?
Victoria, I don't cruise Oregon so I don't know. All I know is that I have seen both sides act this way in the past and it has always been hothead supporters.
Like I said, where I live, all the Bush signs were defaced or stolen on my street one night.
Other than the one left in my yard, I leave other's signs alone. But, I have seen both sides act this way at one time or another.
To me, it's become a sad state of affairs that we can't campaign on issues and one side or the other engages in this type of infantile behavior.
This time, it's Kulongaski's supporters, next time, who knows?
I haven't heard of ANY situations of ANY D sign being defaced--EVEN IN 2004! I'm looking for reports too!
Last night, someone took my McGavick and Messmore signs out of the yard and threw them into the street. Similar to what they did in '04.
I put them back up and driving around this morning, I saw several more signs trashed and thrown down, including just a few Cantwell signs.
Seems someone was very busy last night trashing signs, mostly Republican candidates, but got a couple Democrat as well.
Seemed most of it was on Minneola in Vancouver, Hazel Dell Ave and 88th Street (or at least, what I saw)
Make that Minnehaha. Minneoloa is where I once lived in Florida.

Notice the silence of the Liberal Socialist Democrat Party Media with the Defacing and stealing of Governor Saxton's Signs and also The Violence towards Governor Saxton's signs has and will pick up till Election Day. Bring the Signs in at Night. Theirs other tips I could say,but I won't.
