Some key Republicans have denounced the ad, to include the Republican U.S. Senate candidate and current Maryland Lt. Govenor, the President of the Repblicans for Black Empowerment (to name a few).

I don't think this ad is going to help the Republican candidates.

Can you pick out the elements of this ad which are false?
The ad is not 100% true, nor is it 100% false. It does use some true facts in a misleading way. It also contains at least one blatant false statement.

It is economics and values, much more than race, shaping the membership in today's political parties.

But most of those points in the ad are true, they've been distorted and bent by the Secular Liberal media, and the so called public schools since, around the end of the Civil War.

Lt. General (CSA) Nathan Bedford Forrest was a delegate to the 1868 DEMOCRAT national convention, and was one of the first leaders of the KKK. This heritage is still alive and well in the ranks of the Democrat Party. They create dependency, deny economic and political power to minorities, and lie about their contempt for the folks they claim to support.

This ad makes Republicans more Crazy than it makes Democrats.
It is not so much the posting of the ad here, which makes me wonder about the knowledge and bias of the blog owner, but the comment placed with the ad.

This ad does more to harm the Republican candidates than it does to Democratic Candidates.

Some of the Republicans, who have denounced this ad, are the very people pictured in the little movie which goes with the ad.
Ken Blackwell is claiming that he never gave the National Black Republican Association permission to use his name, yet they list him as a founding adviser. Michael Steel has denounced the ad as well. Yet both are pictured in the movie clip, with the ad on youtube.

The comments, on the youtube site, along with comments in multiple news stories related to the ad, indicate the way this ad makes many black republicans (and non-republicans) feel. The bulk of the result is not positive for the republican party.

I found that this ad caused me to do some reading on the history of the Democrat and Republican parties.
I had found an article where the ad was discussed with a political science professor at the University of Maryland, however I can not seem to locate that article right now.
When I find it, I will post a link to it.

The below article splits out votes by party and region for the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
The split is far more by region (northern states versus southern states) than by political party.

If I wanted to just state a single fact, out of context, I could state this

100% of Southern Republicans voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

In the nature of fairness, I will provide a link to the article.

The article on the 1957 bill does not show the actual vote tally. It does mention that it didn't accomplish much. I guess if it did we would not have needed the 1964 bill.

Here are some links to some news articles I feel are worth looking at. I made a point of looking for the ones where I felt the source has some creditability. (Translation: I looked for articles which backed up my own views :-).
