AMERICA SLEEPS (Connecticut), TERRORISTS PLOT-Part Deux

From Debbie Schlussel on the kids from Hezbolla High in Detroit:
Why is the mother of a terrorist working at the airport? And why does she have passenger lists and info on airport security? Why did she give them to her son? Early this morning, I wrote about Ali Houssaiky and Osama Sobhi Abulhassan, the Dearbornistan Terror Boys. They purchased at least 600 TracFones for the chips inside, which terrorists use as detonation devices in bombs. They had flight manifests and information about airport security checkpoints. They had $10,000 in cash and lied to police. They were working with a Dearborn man under FBI investigation. They were charged with Money Laundering to Aid Terrorism. Today, more disturbing information about these All-American homegrown terrorists:

The Dearbornistan Boys:
Islamic Terrorists Osma Sabhi Abulhassan & Ali Houssaiky

* In addition to the money-laundering charge, the Dearbornistan Terror Boys were charged with Soliciting or Providing Support for an Act of Terrorism.

* The Dearbornistan Terror Boys claim that they had the flight manifests and airport security info because the mother of Ali Houssaiky works for Aircraft Services International Group at Detroit Metro Airport.

If we were at war with terrorists, according to the Administration's own well-documented legal arguments, we would have killed these guys or detained them and thrown them in Gitmo. Instead, where did we put them? Right where we're told by those same arguments we cannot put enemy combatants--in the criminal justice system. The Brits just did the same thing with the airline conspirators. What is going on?

Wrong, LeftieDave. Your ignorance is revealed in your use of the word "combatant." These boys were not on the battlefield yet nor had they engaged in combat, yet.

Of course, if the left's appeasement continues, America very well may become the battlefield and you might get your wish.

Arresting the 28 in England, these Two in Dearbornistan and the 40 or so in Italy is a pre-emptive strike. They were planning, but had not acted on those plans yet. To you lefty's, my guess is we should wait until they blow up some planes, shopping malls, resturaunts or whatever, then act.

In planning, it's a crime. In carrying out those plans, it becomes an act of war.

You need to learn and understand the difference between "Criminal" and "Combatant." Until you do, you just continue to enable terrorists.

RightieDave said...

Oh, I see. Where the most serious would-be practitioners of acts of terror against us are concerned, we are not at war. We're treating them as members of an international criminal gang. How are we ever going to win the War on Terror?

Cramdown said...

What's your definition of "enemy combatant" Lew. One of the government's main arguments for preserving Guantanamo is that the base harbors dangerous "enemy combatants." But more than thirty percent of the detainees were arrested far from any combat zone.

Lew said...

Wake up boys and look at your calender. September 10 ended long ago.

Crammie, care to post the names of these non-combatants (if availabe) and exactly what peaceful area they were taken from and why?

Leftie, explain how the left's cut and run proposal wins anything.

BEAR said...

right-on, lew. The lefties reveal themselves as friends of terrorism by refusing to provide solutions....they just complain about every real effort to stop the butchers....and make excuses for them. BTW, lefties, where are the imams with their condemnations of these latest examples of the "religion of peace?".....thought so. With Connecticut Joe gone, there aren't ANY Dems opposing the butchers....sheesh.

Fizziwigg said...

Stop dodging Cramdown's question Lew. What is your definition of enemy combatant?

Lew said...

Pull your fangs back in, fizzi, they aren't all that large anyways.

If you had read my earlier comment, you might have seen I answered it before it was asked. However, I realize comprehension isn't a strong suit of the left, so to me, a combatant is one who is or has actually been engaged in combat. That means actual fighting, if you want to be technical. From there, you can get even more technical breaking down just what is fighting and with whom.

However, since you and others seem to see the need for these people to be taken to Gitmo, may I suggest you contact the British Government as it was they who broke up the plot in their country, not the US.

Now, I will ask again, since the claim has been made that "more than 30% of the detainees in Gitmo were arrested far from any combat zone," how about at least a partial list of where they were captured? A fact stated as strongly as that should be able to be easily verified, right?

Help him out, fizzi, you're a bright guy.

Lew: As usual, the lefties are again coming out as apologists and defenders of the terrorists. It is enough to make one wonder if they aren't on the payroll of the AmINOCLU. The lefties are resorting to their tired policy of obfuscation and disinformation.

nimlo said...

Apparently, like Jos McCarthy, you have a list of names of "lefties" who are apologists and defenders of terrorists. Care to share that with all of us so we know who you are referring to?

Lew said...

Nimlo, instead of obfuscating, feel free to help Fizzi and Crammie out with their at least partial list of "more than thirty percent of the detainees were arrested far from any combat zone."

I am still eagerly awaiting to read just where nearly one third of all detainees in Gitmo were really taken from.

nimlo said...

Suffice it to say, still no answer from you or Scottiebill. Your answering a quesion with a question does not wash.

Lew said...

Suffice it to say, your obfuscation just doesn't cut it. You have deflected a question with a totally unreleated question, as usual for the left.

Why not just keep on topic and help supply information on "more than thirty percent of the detainees were arrested far from any combat zone?"

Suffice it to say, your question is meaningless as long as another was pending before you chimed in.

Go ahead, give it a shot. A glaring fact as was stated by Cramdown can't be that hard to supply information on, can it?

Oh, the irony of a plea for sources of information ...

This has come to be known on this blog as Lew's Dance.

Mongo7 said...

Would this be a tap dance, jig, or ballet?

nimlo said...

None of these. In Lew's case it's dancing around the campfire while howling at the moon.

For Lew's edification:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Guant%C3%A1namo_Bay_detainees

60% of Americans oppose the war in Iraq and 40% support. Care to post the names of the supporters.

Lew said...

Funny, your Seton Hall University URL doesn't work and the Wikipedia does not list any I saw that said they were captured far from any war zone.

Dancing? LOL, nice try, guys.

RightieDave said...

Come on guys. Why do you continue to bait Lew and box him in with the facts? Just to see him squirm? You may think is it funny, but is it right?

The following detainees, who are all still held at Guantanamo, are just a few of those arrested far from the battlefield:

First bulleted itemSaifulah Paracha, a citizen of Pakistan, was arrested at Bangkok airport in July 2003. Held there for several days, he was then flown to Afghanistan, where he was held for fifteen months before being sent to Guantanamo.

Second bulleted itemMohammed Nechla and five other Algerians (some with Bosnian citizenship) were arrested in Bosnia in October 2001. After extended legal wrangling, which ended when Bosnia's highest court ordered their release, the six men were released from prison in January 2002, but immediately rearrested by the Bosnian police. The following day, they were handed over to the U.S. military and forced onto a plane for transport to Guantanamo. At a Combatant Status Review Tribunal hearing at Guantanamo in 2004, Nechla said that during the 36-hour period after his handover, he "received the worst treatment of his life," with no food, water or sleep.

Third bulleted itemBisher Al-Rawi and Jamil Al-Banna were arrested on November 8, 2002 in Banjul, Gambia. The Gambian national intelligence agency arrested the men in an airport and held them incommunicado for four weeks. The men claim that they were questioned by CIA agents, then transported to a prison in Afghanistan, and subsequently brought to Guantanamo Bay.

Fourth bulleted itemAbd al-Salam Ali al-Hila, a Yemeni businessman, was arrested in Cairo, Egypt, in September 2002. After being handed over to U.S. authorities, al-Hila was "disappeared" into CIA custody in Afghanistan for more than a year and a half before being sent to Guantanamo. While imprisoned in Afghanistan, al-Hila managed to smuggle out a letter that was later published in a newspaper in Yemen. In it, he said: "I am writing this letter from a dark prison. I don't know why I am in jail .... I urge you to request my immediate release and my safe transfer home. If they accuse me of anything, then the minimum rights of any accused [include] standing trial in court."

Fifth bulleted itemMohamedou Ould Slahi, a citizen of Mauritania, voluntarily turned up for questioning by the Mauritanian authorities in September and then again in November 2001. Arrested by the Mauritanians in November, he was transferred to U.S. custody. Slahi stated in tribunal hearings at Guantanamo that U.S. authorities sent him to Jordan around November 28, 2001; that while in Jordan he was hit, slapped and threatened with beatings by Jordanian interrogators; and that he often heard screams, presumably from other prisoners. Slahi claims that he was transferred to Guantanamo in August 2002. He also claims that in August 2003, he was moved to a special zone at Guantanamo and subjected to torture by U.S. interrogators, as well as by Arab interrogators who claimed they were Egyptian and Jordanian. His claims are consistent with reporting in the Washington Post about a secret detention facility at Guantanamo that was in an area used by the CIA, but off-limits to the International Committee of the Red Cross.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Uh, a bit delusional today, LeftieDave?

The following detainees, who are all still held at Guantanamo, are just a few of those arrested far from the battlefield:

3 Days searching the net and all you could come up with is 5? Cramdown claimed OVER 30%

According to Mongos Wiki article, some 750 have been held there. I'll give you the liberal benefit of doubt and increase your five five fold and say 25. That computes out to 3%, not over 30%

Incidentally, the Al Qaeda manual prominently states if captured, cry abuse.

Nice to see you lefty's hold such human flotsam in such high regard, though.

Ya'll don't like the idea of these vermin being held in Guantanamo, that's obvious. How many will you take home with you to watch over?

As for your polls, who cares? A President who runs a war by polls of misled and lied to citizens deserves to lose.

I can just see you all now, had Bush grounded the aircraft fleet on 9-10 over any intelligence he may have had, to prevent 9-11. You'd still be crying for his head for inconveniencing you for no real reason.

The last chapter of this story has yet to be written, I think, but for now, this story isn't amounting to anything.

For now, at least.

Lew said...

You're right, iknow, only time will tell on this one.

However, their attorney calls it outrageous and racial profiling. Can you imagine why someone would be nervous over 3 men of Arabic descent, travelling hundreds of miles, to purchase a thousand cell phones for cash at 1 A.M.?

While they may well be on the up and up, they sure chose a dumb way to go about it, given the times and incidents of that last few years.

We'll see how it pans out.
