Tolerant University Professor Oversees Destruction of Pro Life Display on Campus

Michelle Malkin has the run down. But here are a couple of money quotes by the Professor Sally Jacobsen:

"I did, outside of class during the break, invite students to express their freedom-of-speech rights to destroy the display if they wished to," Jacobsen said.Asked whether she participated in pulling up the crosses, the professor said, "I have no comment."
She said she was infuriated by the display, which she saw as intimidating and a "slap in the face" to women who might be making "the agonizing and very private decision to have an abortion.""Any violence perpetrated against that silly display was minor compared to how I felt when I saw it. Some of my students felt the same way, just outraged," Jacobsen said. (but violence against unborn children is okay) PS The display was approved by University officials.

Funny she was encourging her students to exersise their first admendment rights by trashing someone else's rights.

She talks about the violence she experienced by seeing the display. She was probably reacting to guilt over killing the unborn and wished not to be reminded of it.

Trashing a sign is not trashing a person.

Gee does that mean I can trash any sign I come across as long as I am not trashing a person?

The display was someone elses expression of free speech on the subject of abortion.

Note that the display was a sanctioned one. The "professor" took the rules into her own hand because she was emotional. She should have grabbed the midol, not taken down the signs. ;-)

When I was in High School we used to toilet paper a persons house that acted this way.

Ps Putting rocks in someones hub caps was a lot of fun to when someone like this got out of line.

Of course their was always the old (PUT DOG DO-DO IN THE BROWN PAPER BAG, LIGHT IT ON FIRE AND RING THE DOOR BELL) trick. This person is overwelmingly a great candidate for this.

Hey, westsidedavid, your comment is a non-sequitor. How is a sign infringing on anyone's first amendment rights? Apparently this fat liberal bimbo's feelings are more important to you than free expression. Your continued pretense of moderation is laughable! If you can't walk the walk, or bring anything to the table, don't waste space.

Klatu...I remember the days of toilet papering and the rocks in the hubcaps too...now it's our house that gets tp'd because of the teens in our home! I would say about this Professor, that she was 'censoring' those that wanted to express their views....that is just like those who believe in tolerance. We need to be tolerant of them and their views, but if we have a view, that is not tolerable to them. It goes both ways.

The so called "Tolerant" left are the most intolerant people I have met. Tolerance has become a catch word for embracing whatever a lefty feels like at the moment.

When it comes to "tolerating" the rights views and freedoms, they move to deny them that right through indoctrination of their children in schools and if need be, destruction of their property, as this person did.

Here's a "lefty's" view - I condemn the actions both the professor and students took.

Here's what you all missed (Victoria didn't but her un-bias bias gets in the way) - your "liberal" slanted university, that has run America amok with their "liberal conditioning" of their students, APPROVED the display, AND condemned the destruction, in fact calling for an investigation. How's that possible?

I see that no one here has yet chastised klatu calling for actions no different than this professor...

Trashing a sign is not like trashing a person. You mean it's worse to insult a person? I agree. What if you murder one? What possible problem could that woman have with opposing killing another human being? Who's the bigot?
