JD Hayworth says conservatives want cheap labor, democrats want cheap votes. At Pioneer Square I saw signs reading Jobs for Justice, Che Guevarra, Hecho en Mexico, Don't Separate Us From Our Parents, No to HR 4437, Immigrants Made This Nation and I heard a well received speech about Atzlan! Here's the Plan About Atzlan. Here's my post about it. Here's my post on where you can contact your Senators.
The pro illegal alien crowd is also getting more media savvy and making sure they carried American flags this time around after blowback from their racist marches last time.
Is anyone inconvenienced at all by the Latino walk outs today? Me neither. Some businesses reportedly closed for the lunch hour because their illegal alien work force left for the picket lines. Hello, ICE? You there? May 1st is the planned walk out by Latinos. And once again, what's the background for all of this? Ah, yes, The Plan. Here's Oregon's biggest MEChA organization at the U of O. And here's The Plan.

There is talk of a day of no Latinos on May 1. I say bring it on, the Latinos think it will be a great economic blow to the country. My only hope they'll extend it for a much longer period of time. hat way we'll see who is hurt the most.
It is very disturbing what is happening today...with all of the latinos out and protesting for their 'rights'. When you are illegal...you have no rights. When you are illegal, you should have NO right to vote. I kind of feel like our birthright as American citizens is in jeoparday. I hope that there is no sweeping amnesty bill to be passed. Americans are legal....those who are ILLEGAL aliens are not.
You are right. Some are also saying that you are the one who is illegal and should leave that this land was theirs in the first place. I guess that leaves the Native Americans as odd people out.
I waited all day for the much threatened starvation to come upon me. But, NO, I ate, and ate again! Outside of the central business district life actually looked normal. Oh well, illegals, you lose. So sad. Go home and sell your garbage to vicente.
Where is ICE? I'll tell you.
They are not interested because it is not their job. [link]
they are more concerned about busting the big drug runners versus individual illegal alien.
in fact, it is (DRO), a subdivision of ICE that goes after illegal aliens.
the office of detention and removal (DRO) [web site} is the primary enforcement are for identification, apprehension and removal of illegal aliens the United States.
"The primary responsibility of DRO is to identify, apprehend and remove the illegal aliens the United States. Responsibilities include: identify and removing ALL HIGH RISK ILLEGAL ALIEN FUGITIVES...
The key word here is... high risk.
If it is considered crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor, then they're not considered high risk. You would think that with homeland security, and the fact the it is a federal violation [Federal immigration violation] that it would be more than just a misdemeanor. What a joke!
Cruising around ICE's web site is real eye-opener.
Very Interesting Flyer--with the extension of Texas as part of Mexico. The Flyer speak's for itself. The phony orchestrated Rallies today with White t-shirts and all AMERICAN FLAGS and chanting USA USA was very Phony,
Like putting an over coat on a pig. But its still a pig. Illegals will only do Agricultural Jobs?Give me a break. Illegals have moved far beyond this phony topic.
When America is ever ready to or wants to show who really makes this country run, just have every business or employer that employs these "reconquistas" lay them all off for one day. Two would be better.
They can have their boycott to show us who's boss, but a reverse boycott would hurt them a lot worse than theirs will us.
TEXICO ---- I guess the picture in the Flyer showing Mexico with Texas is
to be called
TEXICO
Theirs an INVASION going on Folks
Ps I'm heading down to Taco Bell,
oh thats right its closed for this worthless Protest. Maybe the head Company will pull this Franchises Lisence.
bear,
They are planning their boycott to occur on May 1.
BTW. I am all for their extending it to a week, month a year whatever it takes.
What should legal Americans do in response to the May 1 boycott?
Celebrate!
Go on with our lives and ignore them.
Yes I know they'll still be there. However, if legal Americans do not appear to notice them maybe they'll get the message that they are not that important.
Lastly let our elected leaders know that we are watching and will not support anyone who is not on the right side of the issue (ie Border security first!).
Dismantle (THE GUEST VOTER PROGRAM)
Psst!
Do I sense some xenophobia here?
Opposing people from another country violating our laws willfully and freely walking our streets protesting and making demands and claiming they are taking a large part of our country for themselves is xenophobic now?
If we don't enforce these laws, which others may I freely ignore and not expect punishment?
Then again, some want the illegals to remain so they have the new slave class doing their menial tasks to keep their costs down. Of course, once they do gain legal status, those same costs will rise as the former illegals, no legals, demand and receive better compensation.
Odd how some support unskilled workers coming in freely and under the radar to do menial jobs yet recently opposed an Arab owned company from doing business in six of our ports, but we that want our laws enforced on immigration are now xenophobic.
My husband had a great observation this morning as we chatted about the illegal imigration issue. He said that he puts the blame at the employers feet, because they willfully hire the illegals. My husband does the hiring at the company he works for and they do background checks, and if any are illegal, they WILL NOT hire them. If they have no jobs to go to..they have no way to make a living. I know it is simplistic in some respects...and I know there are those who don't give a rip if they are illegal or legal. But it is a thought. Instead of making more laws...how about enforcing the ones already on the books?
If interested, there is a Citizen Strike in the planning stages in counter protest to the May 1 walk out encouraged by illegals.
Citizen Strike
rose, should we also lay blame on your husband for not reporting illegal job applicants?
Or does he?
I was only stating a observation anonymous.....he is not the police. My husband does his part...and doesn't partake with those who DO HIRE illegals.
So you want the laws enforced, as long as someone else does it?
How would the police know to round up these "illegals" your husband has denied a job to, if he doesn't report them?
So, you'll complain about the laws in place not being enforced, yet when you have a unique opportunity to help ensure they are - and you claim it's up to someone else?
Seems kind of like voting rose - if you don't vote you don't get to complain about who got elected.
That's just my observation, btw.
I do vote anonymous....My husband hires for the company...not for himself personally....I would not know what the policies for the company are on this issue of reporting illegals. I was stating that the policy for where he works, is that they do not hire illegals. At least in that respect, they are not contributing to the problem.
I would not know what the policies for the company are on this issue of reporting illegals.
Maybe you could ask him? I'd be interested to find out what they are..
Rose, ignore backwards anon. He never has a comprehensive statement and simply opposes to oppose.
Anon in reverse, why don't you ever do your own research?
And I can call the company myself to ask them because I know who rose's husband works for..how..?
Why not call some other company out of the phone book. Or post your email address so rose can send you the info, whoops that would defeat your anonymous status, never mind.
And kodiak is your real name...?
I would also remind you that I was not the one wondering why the rules are not being enforced.
rose already stated that her husband doesn't hire known illegals, but does not report them. "It's not his job...he's not the police."
If you fell down and broke your leg - would you sit around wondering why the ambulance never came for you, if you never called 911?
I don't care about personal information, esp across the Internet like this - but I would honestly like to know what the company policy is on the matter. Just maybe her husband is not allowed to report known illegals. Or maybe when they do a background check, it is flagged automatically for the government to follow up on...or maybe they aren't encouraged to ask...
What's the deal here? Just blame everyone else and do nothing?
Actually the problem is enforcement. The agencies responsible is not doing the job.
This is with the apparent tactical approval with elected leaders.
Therefore what good is reporting if no-one with law enforcement is going to do something.
What we are left to do?
Well discussing the issues here is one thing another is the letter drive. The next step is to remind our elected leaders that while we are not on the streets protesting, we will not support any canadate for elective office if they are not on the right side of the immigration issue (for enforcement).
Actually the problem is enforcement. The agencies responsible is not doing the job. This is with the apparent tactical approval with elected leaders.
I'm not saying you're wrong - but are there documented instances beyond illegals being housed in our prisons?
I am not necessarily talking about prison. I am talking about going after employers by the appropriate immigration law enforcement agencies. I am talking about the sweeps to round up illegals to ship them back and local law enforcement being told not to assist or check legal status when stopped for traffic or other encounters by local elected leaders.
The problem with enforcement is huge.
The (D)emocrats want...
Illegal aliens to provide the votes American's won't.
Watch the video in this post and also watch the video I've posted from the Washingtonians for Immigration Reform.
I say CINCO DE NADA for MAY 5th..it is not that hard to stay out of the restaurants for a day and I find it fitting..
I heard on the news a young man saying we are too "dependant" on them ..I fully disagree! the jobs that these folks are taking will easily be replaced by independent contractors once again such as cleaning offices and such, not that that is the only job these folks are taking, I noticed that in Phoenix when I lived there a considerable amount of construction companies using them for skilled labor and I am sure they where not making near market wages...so the problem does stem from us allowing greed to keeping this a well fed viral problem in America, the sad thing is there is some nice folks in this bunch but they are here illegally and they didn't come here to be Americans first...they came here for a job.
