OY! Latest Salvo in the Loony 'Toons

The latest cartoon is by a University of Toronto student newspaper cartoonist. Find it here.
The cartoon depicts Mohammed and Jesus kissing. Gads.

"The cartoon is a sort of Canadian statement on religious tolerance," said [editor Nick] Ragaz.

"This is not an act of hate," he said. "It's controversial, yes, but it's no attack."

Continued Ragaz: "We will not be pulling the issues from the stands or withdrawing the cartoon from our website.

This cartoon being on a non-religious campus seems to be a non-issue. Yes, it is controversial as the editor said himself but it is by no means breaking any rules or regulations. Personally I find it offensive but people all have different opinions and this clearly is not breaking any type of law.

This cartoon is really over the top. It should be classed as the "Looniest of the Loony Tunes". I, like sidclarissa, find it offensive. All I have to do now is go out and riot some where. Nah! I'm too old and tired to emulate myself into the likes of a bunch of Islamofascists. I think I'll just stay home and read blogs and offer up an opinion or two now and then. It's time for my nap.

Enough already. I agree the toon is offensive. I seriously doubt that anyone is going to be violent over this toon.

If the whole world would start printing these cartoons on the same day, it would force the issue. The extremists can't take on everybody at the same time, can they? If we don't do this, we'll keep sliding down the sloppery slope.
