OPERATION ID: DAY 4

READ THIS BOOK:

Why don't Oregon officials check to see if you're a citizen before you vote, receive benefits, receive an Oregon Driver's License? Seems simple enough to require it. But they don't and, worse, they don't check what documents they DO get.

Operation ID calls our Governor and Secretary of State to account for this abject failure. We call on them to require people signing up for the above items to prove they're citizens.

Go here to get a copy of the letter. Print it. Sign it. Send it back to me. We'll present these letters to the Governor and Secretary of State and demand they change the way we do business in the state of Oregon.

Daniel is right has a story about another oregon driver's license being misused by illegal aliens. Great read!
Here's today's shocking statistic on illegal
immigration:

SSI, MEDICAID, WELFARE PAYMENTS
3.3%
the number of children of illegal aliens and illegal aliens who received these payments in 1982
10.9% the number in 1992
25%
the number in 2003

Vic - just for kicks,

What exactly would you say I would need to show in the state of Oregon to be considered a legal voter, if you had your way? - Specifics please..such as what exact documents, etc.

AND

Could you cite real examples or numbers of illegal, non-citizen voters in past Oregon elections, how they voted, and their effect on election results?

A birth certificate, passport, or some other similar proof of citizenship to register to vote. Voter rolls should be culled through every election cycle and social security numbers should be given a reality check.
Even though elections director John Linbeck admitted on my show that there were people who have probably illegally voted, he says no one has ever been brought up on charges. Now why do you suppose that is? I'll tell you: since it's a complaint driven system, who's going to complain--the person who illegally voted? The system is self reporting. You can sort of liken it to some people's philosophy of love--if you never fall in love you'll never get hurt. If you never check, you'll never find any fraud. Neat as a pin, right?

"..there were people who have probably illegally voted.."

I read some time ago that a complete dissection of voter records was part of the recount(s) for the last Washington State gubernatorial race, emphasizing identification of illegal (non-citizenship) voters. They found two.

I'm not denying the possibility of it happening in Oregon, nor am I saying that those who are not citizens should be allowed to vote, etc. I'm just wondering if this isn't being made more of an issue than it really is...show me these vast numbers of illegal, non-citizen voters - because I'm having a really hard time finding any statistics that verify they exist.

As for the (two specific) forms of identification you would require - I honestly, at this moment, would fail your citizenship test.

Hey fellas, I'm quoting the guy from memory. You should listen.

Ms Taft:
Somehow I hear a sound, a sound of quacking -- no, not quaking -- the sound of a duck. You wrote that John Linbeck said on your show that "there were people who have porbably voted illegally." Eric challenged you to go beyond probably and sweeping statements about what a terrible problem this is and how the government is letting the rampaging plague continue. Can you give some specifics? Can you cite any real evidence other than your feeling that there is not enough oversight? Notably, before I would support the sort of culling that you call for, I would like to know if there is any economic efficiency to such measures. If we cull all of the voter registration records, it will probably cost thousands and thousands of dollars. And what if, as a result of such culling, the State finds two people improperly registered? I'm not sure even you would consider that money well spent. So before we set up another layer of bureaucracy, with all of the attendant spending that it will entail, isn't it incumbent upon you to go beyond sweeping statements of how terrible this problem is and actually produce something that can pass muster as hard evidence that there really is a problem?

Sorry boys, you'll have to listen to the show for specifics which I give every night. Please make a note of it.

Well, boys, I did listen very carefully to Mr. Linbeck and to Ms Youngs (sp?). The latter claimed that 2%-6% of our adult population (i.e: illegal aliens!! because that was the subject re valid driver's licenses) would be ineligible for Oregon i.d. Your willful ignorance does not change the fact that your own state bureaucrats and elected officials are refusing (in numerous public statements) to enforce our laws. Even my 10 year old boy can connect the dots between millions of illegal aliens crossing our borders over the last several years and where they end up. Do you think they just evaporate? Our prisons hold a number of them (last count 6% of Oregon's prison pop.) He can also connect the growing # of Carousels of Information held each year. These events specifically invite only illegal aliens. 1,2,3...pull your heads out. You're wasting time on redundancy, boys, and it makes you look pretty foolish.

The fact that our elections could be swayed by people who are not eligible to vote is not enough for you guys to want to take preventative measures?

We have people who complain about the lines at polling stations in "black neighborhoods" and endless conspiracy theories about fraud from computer tallied voting but when it comes to something that is a clear case of fraud (two illegal voters is still fraud) you don't want to do anything?

Since the two of you will concede that there were at least two Washington voters whose votes were cancelled out by illegal aliens, and it is apparently ok with you, neither of you vote in the next election. Just consider your votes cancelled.

And speaking of voter fraud: I witnessed it occurring at my workplace, confronted those involved, and listened to them say, "so what?" A cavalier attitude toward one of our most important responsibilities undermines the whole process.

So far guys, your strongest points are to call me foolish or make incorrect assertions about my position.

I simply want to see, in writing, the statistics that are driving this crusade.
