Have the citizens of Portland just signed on to provide rehab to all homeless people? Sounds like it. Tune in at 6:05 pm (pacific) to listen in and join the discussion. 877-774-KPAM (5726), 503 225 0860, victoria@victoriataft.com.
Portland may be providing potties for the homeless and anyone else desperate enough to search for a loo downtown.
Then at 7:05 join the head of the Minutemen (Canada) in an enlightening discussion of what's going on North of the border and how that impacts illegal immigration and possible terrorist activities.
Don't forget the Rally for the Minutemen at the steps of the Oregon State Capitol Building in Salem Saturday, October 15 at 1pm. I'll be there!! Will you? Oregonians for Immigration Reform is sponsoring it.
Former FBI chief Louis Freeh was interviewed today. You won't believe what he had to say about President Clinton and his lies. Verrrry interesting.
Tune in tonight to the Victoria Taft Show, broadcasting LIVE from the People's Republic of Portland, where no tax is too high, no business too small to pay 'em, and where they're plotting right now to tax your cell phone and internet connection. LET FREEDOM RING!

Three points.
First, the homeless and addicted are a problem. No doubt. Is Portland's current plan the best one? Maybe, maybe not, but it's *something*. It's a start. On one hand, many will complain "Why doesn't the city do something about this problem?" or "Why isn't Tom Potter acting on this?" And now he's at least trying SOMETHING, and you're complaining about it without even seeing if it's going to work. And who knows? It may *not* work, but you can't condemn the guy for giving it a shot. Damned if you do, damned if you don't, I guess.
Second thing, you can complain all you want about Portland, but you're still here, right?
Honestly, when I take an anti-Bush stance, I get sick and tired of hearing about how I should leave this country if I don't love it. Likewise, the same offer is there for you regarding Portland. This is what we have right now. You have other options.
Finally, stop regurgitating Hannity's show. He's bad enough without having to hear it twice.
The problem "jimmy" is that the problem got out of hand, really out of hand.
So we can bitch at "his honar" because business people were on his case right from the start.
The Bush factor is a sad note because the same arguement applies here. We have a world-wide terror problem and this stupid city ignores it...so as Clinton said,"don't go there!"
Where is it written that the street people have more rights then those that pay the bills?
Where is it written that you think your so much better then people on the right?
Why aren't you complaing? Is the issue of the problems downtown not hitting you? Of course not, and that is so typical of the so-called Progressive mind set.
Boy, once your backyard is full of excrement from the homeless, your car broken open, your kids harrassed by the so called homeless/street people/trash, then by GOD(ooops) you don't think there is one ,then you light all over it.
This city is lost, we may never get it back, the reputation is awful.
Those so called young professionals that move here, are of the same mindset, the out of town license plates going to work on Hawthorne each morning, with the anti-AMERICAN. ANTI-BUSH, KERRY stickers prove those of us who want to pay a fair tax base, and not submitt to a city elected that cares more about the possible terror cells here then the rest of us again proves that with live sex shows, the way left liberal ignorance of what is creeping in here, may just kill alot of us one day.
So, Jimbo, it's a free speech deal...take a big hit of something that will make you ill, because your post sure did ruin my day.
Let's be friendly here, Anonymous. Please, call me Jim. I hate "Jimmy". Or can I call you 'Nony? Pretty please, with sugar on top? I won't even pick on your poor spelling and grammar. I promise!

Where is it written that *I* said that? You're addressing me here, so let's not drag others into this. I happen to agree that the homeless are handled too easily, and I also happen to agree that something needs to be done. Don't extrapolate more than that, because you have no idea what my opinions are.

I never said I was! In fact, I even said that maybe this plan wasn't the best available. I did, however, say that it's a START, which is better than doing nothing at all.

These problems don't discriminate to one party or another. It rains on the left as much as it rains on the right, you know.

Again, you're pre-supposing things.
Well ... you happen to be right, mind you, but that's neither here nor there in this case. You can have your religion. I'm fine with whatever you want to believe in. That's up to YOU to decide. The homeless in the parks isn't a religious issue. But what if it was? What about "love thy neighbor", not "send thy neighbor to Canada on a bus because they're a problem"?
